Let’s meet to enjoy discussion about the phenomenon of Agency in the light of cognitive science and our ongoing topic, algorithmic information theory.

This time, we will be joined by Michał Nowak, a cognitive psychologist and researcher from Jagiellonian University.
In Daniel Dennett's view, agency is an emergent property of systems that can be understood through the intentional stance. An agent is a system whose behavior is most simply predicted by attributing it with beliefs, desires, and intentions, even if those attributions are fictions created by the brain. Within this framework, agency depends on information processing, using information about the world to anticipate outcomes and guide actions.
