Gdansk Open Source Meetup #3

Szczegóły
Ready for Gdansk Open Source Meetup#3? Here we go!
Join the Gdansk open source community on Thursday, May 11th for an evening packed with open source high-tech goodness. Two technical presentations and a Q&A session will be followed by a socializing & networking afterparty in ECS till late.
Agenda:
1. Simulating chips quickly and cost-free with Verilator; Krzysztof Bieganski, Antmicro
The landscape of hardware description language simulation is dominated by clunky, expensive proprietary tools. Slowly but surely, this has been changing thanks to emerging open source alternatives. Verilator is a standout among these, offering great performance and usability, while being completely free and open. Let us take a look at what makes it great, how one can use it, as well as its growth over the past few years and into the future.
2. Overview of state-of-the-art Deep Neural Network applications; Maciej Torhan, Antmicro
Deep Neural Network research is currently progressing at an unprecedented pace in a multitude of fields involving image, video, text, sound and various other signal types and their combination. Researchers are actively involving Deep Neural Networks to enrich datasets and improve DNN development, which allows to train models on even more data, making them more robust.
Simultaneously, society at large is now witnessing the possibilities of well trained DNNs in the form of decent quality automatically generated art, image enhancements and textual content created from both image and textual prompts. With AI slowly entering our daily activities, the programming process is naturally no exception. This presentation will give a subjective overview of novel Deep Neural Network applications that are available in the open source ecosystem for anyone to run and use.
