Gdansk Open Source Meetup #5

Szczegóły
Gdansk Open Source Meetup is back!
We would like to invite all Open Source enthusiasts in the Tricity area for the fifth iteration of a knowledge-packed meeting where experts in their fields will show you what open source edge computing is all about. Book some time on May 21st, 18:00 and be prepared for 2 technical presentations, a Q&A session and an afterparty until the very night.
Agenda:
1. Performance analysis and benchmarking on Linux; Krzysztof Bieganski, Antmicro
The presentation will provide an overview of the world of performance analysis and benchmarking on Linux, starting with how to correctly assess optimization needs. We’ll also explore open source tools such as perf that let us identify bottlenecks and similar issues, as well as talk about reducing noise in our measurements to ensure accurate and reliable performance assessment.
2. An OpenROAD to designing your own chips; Michal Czyz, Antmicro
This presentation is tailored for software and hardware engineers willing to take a peek at the current state of free and open source silicon design tools; if you ever wondered how big companies create the latest CPUs and GPUs and wished you could do it yourself, then this talk is for you.
We will explore a selection of tools and projects which aim at providing a complete package for digital design, like the highly autonomous, single-click flows for RTL to layout available in the ecosystem built around the OpenROAD project. We will outline synthesis tools, automation frameworks, PDKs and learn that the gap between proprietary and open source solutions has never been narrower.
