📱 Mobile Warsaw #105
Agentic Engineering & SwiftUI Backwards
This edition is all about pushing boundaries in two directions: forward with AI-driven development, and backward with SwiftUI compatibility. Find out how Craft rebuilt their entire workflow around agentic tools — and learn a clever technique for back-deploying the latest SwiftUI features to older iOS versions.

⚠️ RSVP REQUIRED
Please RSVP on Meetup to secure your spot. Walk-ins may not be admitted if we reach capacity.

🕗 EVENT AGENDA
18:50 — Introduction Keynote
Welcome & community updates.

19:00 — Agentic Engineering @ Craft (Sponsored talk)
Peter Adam Wiesner
I've been writing iOS code since the days of iOS 5 and 6 - about 14 years ago - so I've lived through a few eras of mobile development. Along the way I got to experience the fast-paced, craft-driven world of a mobile agency at Distinction, then the scale and structure of a big tech company at Skyscanner. Now I'm combining the best of both at Craft Docs, where I joined as a founding engineer and currently lead the team as Head of App Technology. My deepest passion has always been understanding how things work under the hood - ObjC runtimes, swizzling, the internals of UIKit and CoreAnimation. I believe that the more layers of the stack you truly understand, the more unexpected connections and patterns you start to see across technologies. These days my focus has shifted toward leading the app team - mentoring, building processes, setting technical direction. But honestly, I treat that the same way: as a system worth understanding deeply. Outside of work, I'm a dad of two, a reader, a gamer, and a dedicated LEGO builder - which, come to think of it, is just another form of system design.

In January 2026, we went all-in on AI-native development at Craft. The app team spent three focused weeks rebuilding our workflows around agentic tools and hasn't hand-written a line of production code since December.
This talk isn't about hype, but about the engineering reality: how we structured human-agent collaboration, and what it actually looks like to orchestrate one (or three) agents across a real mobile codebase.
We'll cover the projects that simply weren't possible before - and why the playground is much wider than most engineers expect.

19:40 — Future: Yesterday – Writing SwiftUI for iOS 26 while supporting 18 or below
Pyry Jahkola
Hi 👋 I'm Pyry, iOS lead at Sanoma Media Finland. Been involved with Swift from the early days. I enjoy building up things from functional pieces, a bit like making music. Making functional pieces is fun too!

We've all seen Apple introduce fancy new SDK features at WWDC, only to find out most of them require either raising the app's deployment target to the latest OS version or maintaining two code paths where OS support is `#available` or not. In case of SwiftUI, that often leads to duplicated view code or performance issues with `AnyView`.
In this talk, we get familiar with Swift's language mechanisms for supporting backward compatibility… but try a different approach: Can we get code written against iOS 26 to build and reasonably run on older OS versions?
We arrive at one such back-deploying technique, and discuss its applicability and tradeoffs to Swift libraries beyond SwiftUI.
