Ceramics and Talk - Feat. Formiga Ateliê
Celebrate the people who became part of your story while you paint your own ceramic piece!
In a world where so many of our conversations happen through screens, some connections still feel deeply real.
A best friend.
A partner.
A person who was there at the right time.
Someone who changed the way you see life, love, friendship, or yourself.
This collab between Walk and Talk and Formiga Ateliê is a 3-hour ceramics and English conversation experience.
While you paint your own ceramic mug, you’ll be guided through meaningful English conversation prompts about the important relationships in your life: how they started, how they grew, what made them last, and why they still matter.
In the end you can keep your piece as a personal memory or give it as a gift to the person who inspired it.
This is not just a ceramics class.
It is a moment to slow down, disconnect from your phone, remember, create, and celebrate someone meaningful.
The experience includes:
- 3-hour guided ceramics experience
- Breakfast/brunch
- 1 Mug
- Paints, brushes, tools, and everything you need to create your piece
Technical assistance
The Formiga Ateliê team will provide you with a crash course in portuguese just so things are crystal clear on how to handle the materials and paint your ceramic piece successfully and in the way you want
Finishing and lacquering
After the experience, your piece will be finished, lacquered, cured, and tempered by the studio
Participants will be able to retrieve their pieces up to 30 days later.
Even though the pieces are always ready before the 30 day deadline we ask for this timeframe because the ceramic pieces need to go through the proper finishing process at a separate ceramics studio
IMPORTANT DETAIL
Investment: R$300 per perso
Duration: 3 hour
Language: All interactions will be in English except maybe for some technical explanations if participants have any specific questions about techniques and processes
Spots: Limited to 12 participant
Included piece: 1 mug per participan
There will also be other ceramic pieces available at the studio in different formats and price ranges. Participants can choose to paint extra pieces, which will be charged separately

And foreigners are also welcome!
We Brazilians always have a very healthy curiosity to learn about your ideas, your experiences, and the differences in customs and languages. We are also, by nature, very willing to help foreigners feel more at ease here in Brazil. It's also a great opportunity to network and meet locals who can make you feel at home.
We always meet on Fridays, inside Shopping Center 3 (next to Consolação subway station), on the ground floor, in front of the Havanna Café. Always from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM, when the mall closes.

Men's Group meetup
**The idea for this group is to build a community where men can gather together and build connections & learn and grow from each other.**
How we start each meeting is by each of us checking in with our "roses and thorns" aka what are the good things and the bad things going on in your life recently?
Then we will go into a topic discussion.
\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-
**COMMUNITY AGREEMENTS**
\*\*THERE WILL BE A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY FOR NO-SHOWS. IF YOU RSVP TO A MEETING AND FAIL TO SHOW UP WITHOUT NOTICE, YOU'LL BE REMOVED FROM THE GROUP. THIS IS TO PRESERVE THE INTEGRITY OF THE GROUP\*\*
1. Confidentiality - EVERYTHING that is shared NEVER leaves this space so that this space remains safe and sacred. There is a zero tolerance policy for this. If a man is in violation of this, they will be permanently removed from the group.
2. Non-Judgement - we respect and honor every man’s truth so that we may receive the same from others. While we may not agree on everything, we commit to respecting every man’s perspectives and engaging in honorable discussion with one another.
3. Be committed - honor your commitment to this group and to yourself. If you attend a meeting, please commit yourself fully to the meeting. Also be committed to your own journey. When we fail, we own it & clean it up.
4. Speak from the heart - this is NOT a space to “look good”, have the “right” answers, and have it all together. Relax and know you are not alone. Be exactly who you are within the safety of this space.
5. Be supportive - This means always willing to provide encouragement to your fellow men, encourage action and momentum in each other’s lives.. Be willing to challenge each other. Be willing to hold each other accountable.
6. Participation - what you receive from this community will be a reflection of what you put into it. Period. We ask that you share your perspectives, reflect on others, and give/receive support when and where it’s needed.

Book summary:
On a hot day in Bethlehem, a twelve-year-old Palestinian-American girl is yelled at by a group of men outside the Church of the Nativity. She has exposed her legs in a biblical city, an act they deem forbidden, and their judgement will echo on through her adolescence. When our narrator finally admits to her mother that she is queer, her mother's response only intensifies a sense of shame: 'You exist too much,' she tells her daughter. Told in vignettes that flash between the U.S. and the Middle East--from New York to Jordan, Lebanon, and Palestine--Zaina Arafat's debut novel traces her protagonist's progress from blushing teen to sought-after DJ and aspiring writer.
Take Control Of Your Life, Freedom From Negative Thoughts & Irrational Emotions
Feeling down? Sometimes depressed? Can't focus? Negativity & stress? Recent losses? Creativity in career and personal life hindered by mental blocks? Sometimes we never fully recover from traumatic experiences.
Whether it was yesterday, last week or a year ago, traumatic experiences - a loss of a loved one, losing a job, a breakup - can leave you scarred. You talk about it and feel a little better, but it never goes away. After you hang up the phone, it's still there; the sadness, the cloud, the over-thinking, the worry, the guilt. You try to focus, but you're blocked. You try to look forward into new experiences, new relationships but a cloud is hanging over you, casting a shadow on what you once considered a bright, cheerful future.
What happened to your courage? Your strength of character? You're 'why not' attitude? Whoever said 'time heals' must have had a special time machine, because after weeks, months, years, you're wondering - when exactly does that kick in? Sometimes it seems like drinking or drugs are the way to go. But they wear off, and now the problem is still there with added side effects from the drugs.
At this free local Meetup event we will talk about:
* What causes grief, anxiety and depression to become chronic.
* Is it possible to regain your joy and happiness even after traumatic experiences?
* How to break away from negativity and focus on the future
* What are the steps to take to get control of your mind and your emotions?
Learn about a safe, gentle, do-it-yourself counseling that can be done in the comfort of your own home.
Let's explore safe, effective solutions for healing from traumatic experiences.
Be sure to click on the red "Attend" button below to come to the event. We look forward to seeing you there.
This group is sponsored by the Dianetics & Scientology Life Improvement Center.
