VRTO (VirtualReality.TO) is a productivity-oriented think tank and discovery group for innovators, developers, inventors, storytellers, content producers, entrepreneurs, hackers, modders, programmers, pioneers, ontologists and adventurers.
It is also the organization behind the VRTO Virtual & Augmented Reality World Conference & Expo Canada's international immersive technologies nexus, and the FIVARS Festival of International Virtual & Augmented Reality Stories.
Toronto is a powerhouse for independent games development, technology and filmmaking and arts and culture. This meetup is targeted towards drawing the brightest and best, the curious and motivated, the adventurous and courageous together with the aim of pushing this paradigm-shifting new medium towards its best and upper limits.
VRTO Meetups are dynamic, disruption-seeking events designed to challenge its attendees, while providing a comfortable and engaging environment to do so. Sessions focus on practical, explorational, philosophical and technical discussions as well as content demos about contemporary virtual and augmented reality, opportunities and threats, blue sky and resource swapping, curated by the Editor-In-Chief of IndieGameReviewer.com, Constant Change Media Group (ConstantChangeMedia.com) and Robot Pride Day.
VRTO also hosts the Virtual & Augmented Reality World Conference & Expo in June - Canada's largest in 2016 and 2017 - and FIVARS (Festival of International Virtual and Augmented Stories) every September.

FIVARS 2026: Festival of International Virtual & Augmented Reality Stories
OCAD , Central Lobby, 49 McCaul Street, Toronto, ON, CAFIVARS - Festival of International Virtual & Augmented Reality Stories 2026 is shaping up to be one of the best in its 12-year history. Location-based festival in Toronto runs June 15-19th.
This is an incredibly rare opportunity to see Canadian, North American, and World premieres of the best new #immersive content from all over the planet - Canada, China, Argentina, Italy, Denmark, USA, Netherlands, Finland, Iceland, Germany, Portugal, Ireland, Taiwan, Japan, Brazil, and more, all under one roof.
Online theater for passive works and live, remote VR performances continues for an additional 2 weeks.
Please note: FIVARS will be live in Toronto for only 5 days. Tickets are for 1 x 2-hour block at a specific time and date.
More than half of the catalog can only be seen in person, which includes all the interactive pieces.
All tickets include access to the online theater, which features all dome and spherical video content and runs for 14 days following the LBE show.
All tickets will have access to any live remote VR performances or WebXR pieces. They will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
All purchased FIVARS tickets will receive a rebate discount for VRTO conference passes, which run the following week, June 24-26th.
