📅 Agenda

🕕 17:45 Networking
Let’s grab a beer and catch up 🍺

🕕 18:00 Talks

➡️ Bogusław Wójcik: Pillars of Quality for Golang Services

In an era where AI generates entire services in seconds and developers increasingly treat code as a commodity to be assembled rather than crafted, do software engineering principles still hold relevance? This talk examines five foundational pillars that have long defined quality in Golang microservices—from architectural patterns and testing philosophy to the balance between dogma and pragmatism. But as generative AI reshapes how we write code, we face an uncomfortable question: if machines can produce working software without understanding SOLID principles or service encapsulation, why should human developers care about these abstractions at all?

In this deeply personal and philosophical talk, I'll revisit the foundational principles that have guided me through software engineering, demonstrating their value in traditional development. But then we'll confront the deeper question: do the reasons these principles exist still apply when AI writes the code? Don't expect definitive answers—as with all philosophy, asking the right questions matters more than finding comfortable conclusions.

🕖 19:00 🍕🍺 It's pizza time and while refueling our energy let's take another chance to chat with your fellow gopher!

➡️ Maciej Szopiński: Why is Go one of the worst performing languages for AI coding agents? (and how to fix it?)

These days there is no coding without AI Agents, but have you noticed they seem a bit... lost when writing Go? While Python, Java, and even PHP developers are flying high, Go often trails behind in major AI coding benchmarks. In this talk, we’ll dive into the data to see why our favorite language is such a "hard nut to crack" for LLMs. Is it Go’s simplicity that is actually confusing the models, or is there something deeper in the language's philosophy? Join me so we can together try to discover what exactly is tripping up our digital coworkers and how we can adjust our workflow to make AI agents work effectively on our Go codebase.
