It's not a therapy session. It just feels like one...🤷🏻‍♂️ Για όσα δεν λέγονται στα τραπέζια...

React Athens MeetUp #10
👋 Hello guys and gals, 👋 🎉🎉🎉 Get ready for the after Summer event. 🎉🎉🎉 Doors open at 18:00 18:15 - 18:30 - Gathering and welcome from the organizers. 18:30 - 19:00 - Faris Aziz - The Hidden Battleground, Engineering High-Conversion Payment Experiences 19:00 - 19:30 - Nestor Lopez Federation of Specialists: From Module Federation to AI Orchestration 19:30 - 20:00 - George Karalis - Exploring MCP Apps: Practical Use Cases for the Enterprise [Get your CityJS Athens Blind tickets now before the end of Month as our prices will go Save 50% off.](https://athens.cityjsconf.org) **Faris Aziz - The Hidden Battleground, Engineering High-Conversion Payment Experiences** For most products, the checkout is the most critical and fragile part of the funnel. It’s where traffic turns into revenue, where small UX regressions compound into large financial losses, and where system failures become immediately visible on the balance sheet. This talk explores how to build resilient, high-converting payment experiences as systems, not screens. Drawing on hundreds of A/B experiments run on tens of millions of users and lessons from operating a global subscription platform generating tens of millions in annual recurring revenue, we’ll look at how payment orchestration evolves as products scale across regions, currencies, and providers. We’ll cover how to design checkout UX that converts consistently even for low-frequency products, how to orchestrate multiple gateways without leaking complexity to the user, and how to test and monitor flows where failure tolerance is extremely low. Along the way, I’ll even show a shocking example where adding just two form inputs, implemented correctly, could cost over a million dollars in lost revenue. This is a practical talk from the trenches about why checkout is a hidden battleground, and how resilient payment engineering protects both conversion and growth. **Nestor Lopez //** **Federation of Specialists: From Module Federation to AI Orchestration** The industry has already learned how to break frontend monoliths apart without breaking the product experience. A similar shift is now happening in AI. This talk traces the move from federated UI and composable runtime systems to a federation of AI specialists—and shows why production AI works better when agents have clear roles, controlled tools, workflow hooks, shared collaboration context, and policy boundaries. **George Karalis - Exploring MCP Apps: Practical Use Cases for the Enterprise** What happens when you give an LLM structured access to your company's actual systems, its APIs, data, internal tools? MCP Apps are a new extension to the Model Context Protocol that lets servers return interactive HTML interfaces, dashboards, forms, data explorers, rendered directly inside the conversation. Instead of bouncing users between chat and separate web apps, the UI lives right where the discussion happens, with bidirectional data flow and sandboxed security. We'll look at how tool handlers expose API endpoints to LLMs, how OAuth fits into the picture, and how the data and context flow into a React app rendered inside the conversation. Whether you're considering MCP for your own product or just curious about what generative UI looks like, this talk will give you a practical intro on building AI-native enterprise tools with React. A word from our sponsors. * [EPIGNOSIS](https://www.epignosishq.com/) * [CityJS Conferences](https://cityjsconf.org) 🏆Mini surprise🏆 🍕Pizzas🍕 🦸‍♀️Socializing🦸‍♂️!

We are pleased to bring you two talks this time. This event will be held in the offices of our sponsor Moro Technology, 28is Oktovriou 5, Omonia square, Stoa Trikoupi. **1st talk:** "Building with Antigravity" by [Mete Atamel ](https://www.linkedin.com/in/meteatamel/) **Abstract:** Google Antigravity transforms your regular IDE into an agentic development platform. Beyond basic tab completion, Antigravity offers an intuitive, artifact-based approach to monitoring and providing feedback to agents. By utilizing rules, workflows, and skills, you can fully customize the environment to your team’s best practices, while a dedicated browser subagent handles tasks outside the editor. Last but not least, its Agent Manager can spin up and coordinate multiple parallel agents across various workflows, allowing you to work at a higher level than the code itself. **Presenter:** Mete is a Software Engineer and a Developer Advocate at Google in London. He builds tools, demos, tutorials, and [gives talks](https://atamel.dev/speaker-profile/) to educate and help developers to be successful on Google Cloud. **2nd talk:** "Beyond RCA Speed: Understanding Change in Modern Production Systems" by [Spiros Economakis](https://www.linkedin.com/in/spirosoik/) **Abstract:** In cloud-native environments, deployments, configuration updates, scaling events, and dependency changes continuously reshape system behavior. Incidents rarely arrive without warning, they emerge from subtle interactions and behavioral drift that are difficult to interpret using dashboards, alerts, or post-incident analysis alone. This talk explores why improving root cause speed eventually plateaus, and why many teams are shifting focus toward understanding how change propagates through production systems. **Presenter:** A systems engineer with over 12 years of experience in diverse tech environments and author of "Argo CD in Practice" book. Founder & CEO of [NOFire AI](https://www.nofire.ai/). A Full Context Embedded SRE platform that operates across the entire lifecycle. Before Change, During Failure, After Resolution.

AI is changing how art is made. But when does it stop being your work and start being the machine’s? This month we're going to be doing a panel with with digital image, music, and written word artists, talking about at what point, while using AI in the creation process, does the work become not the artist creation? We encourage audience participation during this event that will be moderated by Chris Slee. Whether you’re deep in the field or just getting curious, come connect with others building and exploring AI in Columbus. Columbus Arduino Raspberry Pi Enthusiasts (CARPE) (Check Location)
Bring your Raspberry Pi, Arduino, microcontroller, or any other electronic project and join fellow electronics makers for a night of creativity and collaboration! This session is open forum to share your current projects—whether complete or in progress, it’s all interesting! Whether you’re deep into embedded systems, exploring new ideas, or just getting started, you’ll find a welcoming space to collaborate, share, and get inspired. **New to electronics or curious about tinkering?** You’re absolutely welcome. If you’re a beginner and want to experiment, I’ll have a couple of starter kits available so you can try things out—whether that’s blinking your first LED, putting something on a display, or experimenting with simple sensors. No pressure and no experience required—just an interest in learning and building. While we continue to pursue a more permanent venue for this Meetup, we’ll be using public library facilities based on availability. This session will be at the Worthington Park Library in the Olentangy Meeting Room.
