Irány Hűvösvölgy! The weather finally seems to be on our side, so we’re excited to organise our long-awaited Kerek Perec hike! 🌿 We’ll meet at the last stop of tram 56/61 on Sunday and take a relaxed circular walk in the Buda hills. Although the event is three hours long we won’t be hiking the entire time; we’ve prepared lots of games and activities so we’ll be taking frequent breaks to practise Hungarian. Along the way, you’ll pick up useful vocabulary related to nature and hiking, hear about a couple of famous Hungarian hikers, and work together in different group competitions. You’re very welcome to join regardless of your Hungarian (and fitness) level — we’ll have activities adapted for beginners (A1), elementary (A2), and intermediate (B1) learners. We will have enough time to cover the basics, discuss what we would like to improve and get playing at least one simple song! I also speak Hungarian, so if there is anyone who doesn’t understand English, I will translate on the go. Any newcomers are welcome and I will help you to get started and develop together with others. **What to bring:** A pen and notebook, so you can take notes as needed. Guitar (if you don't have one, you can use mine during the class, but definitely you should get a guitar later if you want to learn guitar properly). Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 7:00pm on Wednesday, April 22 at Streetlight Guild. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. **SCHEDULE:** 6:45ish - Quick introductions 7:00 - Timer starts: write for 1 hour 8:00 - The End **OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING** happens before and after the writing hour. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing. **BEING LATE IS OKAY:** just show up and get settled! If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer. We practice, dance, and enjoy a BYOB bottle of your favorite wine at the Dublin Ballroom off Sawmill, North, and “milonga” is a social event for tango dancing where dancers socialize. A “*practica*” is an informal social event for tango dancing where dancers focus on practicing the dance; while a “*practilonga*” combines the relaxed atmosphere of a “*practica*” with the format of a “milonga.” We are doing it all! ***Cost is $10 payable to the Teacher.*** *Cost is for the cost of the venue and covers some snacks.* We have had fun doing this event in the past. Please arrive promptly as lessons begin at 2pm. Don't worry about bringing a partner as there will be others at the event from outside the group that: a) might have a clue and b) won't step on your toes. The event is BYOB (similar to our Salsa events), so bring your favorite and a wine glass. We will likely find a place for dinner and drinks after the dance.
