Join us for our first Family Friendly walk. We will be meeting at 10am at Cranbourne Botanic Gardens. Meeting spot will beside the Car Park at the benches near the entry. The hike will be along the outside area of the Gardens going clockwise starting towards the Trig Point Lookout and following around the outside. Bring along a packed lunch and we will have lunch at the end at the Woodland Picnic area where any kids that have come along can have a play.

Starting outside Soul at Mickys Café – Research we will walk the Nillumbik Aqueduct Trail. The trail utilises the corridor of the historically significant Maroondah Aqueduct and is a family friendly trail. The aqueduct was an engineering feat, following the contours of the land from Maroondah Dam in Healesville to Melbourne’s storage dam in Preston. The aqueduct has a relatively wide easement, picturesque setting, and a constant gradient, aside from the creek and road crossings. The walk is suitable for most and dogs on lead are welcome. In total we will cover approximately 9 kms in 2.5 hours. For anyone interested afterwards we will meet for a coffee, chat and lunch at Mickeys after. We look forward to catching up.

NAMI Family-to-Family provides information about anxiety, depressive disorders, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and other mental health conditions. Other topics covered include communication, problem solving, treatment, and recovery.

This is an all inclusive event to inform, support and help bring special needs families and the community together.
