Laugh without Reason Event (DE/EN)
Laugh without Reason Event (DE/EN)
Important information: The event will always take place regardless of how many people attend the meetup. There is always a second laughter yoga conductor (Heidi) and a couple of other regulars who don't use Meetup. Laughter Yoga is a unique concept that combines laughter exercises with yoga breathing to promote wellness and overall happiness. You will learn how to laugh without reason. The event is perfect for anyone looking to de-stress, boost their mood, and connect with others in a light-hearted and fun way. You don't need any yoga experience, just the willingness to laugh. **Do I need special clothing?** * Just wear comfortable clothes. Please bring some thick socks or clean shoes for the room. **Do I need anything else?** * It is essential to stay hydrated. **Please bring some water**. * Comfortable clothes. Thick socks or clean shoes for the room. * An open mind. **Is it free?** * Participation costs 5€. Alternatively, you can use Urban Sports Club. These costs are mainly used to cover rent for the room, meetup fees, website, insurance, flyers, etc. * Link for Urban Sports Club (USC): https://urbansportsclub.com/de/venues/laughter-yoga-club-kreativhaus **What does an event look like?** * We incorporate laughter exercises, breathing exercises, playful exercises, positive affirmations, and dancing. The event ends with a laughter meditation of \~ 15 minutes. **What if I can't laugh?** * Everything is voluntary. If you can't laugh, you can simulate it, and usually, people get into genuine laughter during the sessions. Laughter yoga is a great way to laugh more, to laugh deeper, and more frequently! **How many people show up?** * Usually, the group size is between 7 and 20 people. Regardless how many people sign up via meetup, the event will always take place. Many people don't sign up via meetup. **Where is it?** * It's close to U2 Märkisches Museum. The Kreativhaus Berlin Mitte has one entrance. Please be there 5 minutes before we start. After 7 pm, it might be closed, and you either have to ring the bell or go around the house and watch out for the yellow smiley flag. The session takes place in "Projektraum 2/3". Sessions are either in German or English. We always make sure that everyone understands it. More information you can find here: [www.more-laughter.com](www.more-laughter.com)

Neurodivergent Sharing Circle: People of Color
Neurodivergent Sharing Circle: People of Color
If you are navigating life with both being a person of color and being neurodivergent—this sharing circle is for you. **Details** 📅 Wednesday, 8th of April 2026 🕕 18:30 - 20:30 📍 Meeting Room in BIW\*oC Rising https://maps.app.goo.gl/Y6wTvMXV4rCUkgzP8 🎟️ Free but a donation for the space is highly appreciated. **Community disclaimer:** This circle is organized entirely by neurodivergent volunteers who contribute their time, energy, and resources to create this space. They deserve patience and kindness. **What happens here** * We gather. We share. We listen. * Stimming, fidgeting, moving around, stepping out for a break, is always welcome. * For this first event, we will try to open with a round of introductions. If you feel called to, you can share three words that represent your neurodivergent and BIPOC life. * There is no pressure to share if you can't think of any or would rather just pass. * After we hear the words, we can see what themes emerge and let the conversation flow from there. * The format of this event can be changed and discussed the further we go with this sharing circle. **This space is for you if:** * You're a person of color—Black, Indigenous, Latinx, Asian, Pacific Islander, Middle Eastern, mixed-race, or any marginalized racial or ethnic identity. * You're neurodivergent—diagnosed, self-identified, questioning, or just know your brain works differently: ADHD, autistic, dyslexic, AuDHD, or any other neurotype. **Community Agreements** * **This is a space to heal, not to harm.** Experiencing racism is painful and real. That pain is welcome here. However, this is not a space to express sexist, misogynistic, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, colorist, or any other discriminatory attitudes toward any person or group—regardless of their identity. We all carry wounds. But those wounds do not give us permission to wound others. * **Confidentiality:** What is shared in the circle stays in the circle. This helps us build trust. * **No Fixing:** This is a space for sharing experiences, not for giving unsolicited advice, diagnosing others, or trying to "fix" someone. We are here to witness and support, not to problem-solve. * **Content Warnings:** If you plan to share something that involves heavy topics like trauma, self-harm, or graphic discrimination, please give a brief warning before you start (e.g., "I'd like to share something about a difficult experience..."). This allows others to gently step out or prepare themselves. * **Respect the Space:** Please be mindful and respectful of the venue that hosts us. **About the Space Hosting Us** "BIWOC\* Rising is a Berlin-based intersectional organization for Black, Indigenous, and Women\* of Color, as well as trans, intersex, and non-binary people of color. It provides a safer workspace, socal club, networking opportunities, and its current project, EquiNet, which offers workshops and events to support members’ social, professional, and economic empowerment. The organization aims to build community, challenge systemic discrimination, and strengthen opportunities for marginalized groups through inclusive spaces." **Learn more about BIWOC\* Rising**: https://biwoc-rising.org/ **We can't wait to share space with you.**

Kreative Schreibwerkstatt in Charlottenburg (14:30 Uhr!)

Speak Easy (Storytelling)
Speak Easy (Storytelling)
The topic for April is "Water" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect. The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome. Hang around after the show for a drink and build community!

Bad Girls Book Club April 2026
Bad Girls Book Club April 2026
**Our April novel is: *The Hong Kong Widow* by Kristen Loesch** **This month’s novel blends gothic atmosphere with historical fiction and chilling horror, set against the haunting backdrop of China. The book is 368 pages in print and 10 hours and 42 minutes on audiobook.** In 1950s Hong Kong, Mei is a young refugee of the Chinese Communist revolution struggling to put her past in Shanghai behind her. When she receives a shocking invitation—to take part in a competition in one of the city's most notorious haunted houses, pitting six spirit mediums against one another in a series of six séances over six nights, until a single winner emerges—she has every reason to refuse. Except that the hostess, a former Shanghainese silent film star, is none other than the wife of the man who once destroyed Mei’s entire life. It is promised the winner will receive a fortune, but there is only one prize Mei wants: revenge. Decades later, the final night of that competition has become an infamous urban legend: The police were called to the scene of a brutal massacre but found no evidence, dismissing it as a collective hallucination. Mei knows what she saw, but now someone else is convinced they know what she did. She must uncover the truth about the last night she ever spent in that house—even if the ghosts of her past are waiting for her there. . . .

Imposter Syndrome by Kathy Wang
Imposter Syndrome by Kathy Wang
Semi in honor of March being International Women's Month Columbus libraries: [https://cml.bibliocommons.com/v2/record/S105C3454709](https://cml.bibliocommons.com/v2/record/S105C3454709) Location: SOW Plated Menu: [https://www.sowplated.com/menu-brunch/](https://www.sowplated.com/menu-brunch/) Book summary: In 2006 Julia Lerner is living in Moscow, a recent university graduate in computer science, when she's recruited by Russia's largest intelligence agency. By 2018 she's in Silicon Valley as COO of Tangerine, one of America's most famous technology companies. In between her executive management (make offers to promising startups, crush them and copy their features if they refuse); self promotion (check out her latest op-ed in the WSJ, on Work/Life Balance 2.0); and work in gender equality (transfer the most annoying females from her team), she funnels intelligence back to the motherland. But now Russia's asking for more, and Julia's getting nervous. Alice Lu is a first generation Chinese American whose parents are delighted she's working at Tangerine (such a successful company!). Too bad she's slogging away in the lower echelons, recently dumped, and now sharing her expensive two-bedroom apartment with her cousin Cheri, a perennial "founder's girlfriend". One afternoon, while performing a server check, Alice discovers some unusual activity, and now she's burdened with two powerful but distressing suspicions: Tangerine's privacy settings aren't as rigorous as the company claims they are, and the person abusing this loophole might be Julia Lerner herself. The closer Alice gets to Julia, the more Julia questions her own loyalties. Russia may have placed her in the Valley, but she's the one who built her career; isn't she entitled to protect the lifestyle she's earned?
