We’ve got another big, fun group on Sunday so to be sure we don’t overwhelm the restaurant, we’ll do this one a little differently.

Join us for a bit of a rarity – a mystery / horror / thriller that's smart, thrilling, funny, and being called “one of the best films of the year,” WEAPONS! The film follows the case of seventeen kids from the same classroom who mysteriously disappear overnight at the exact same time. Here’s a description, trailer and plan for this event:

DESCRIPTION: When all but one child from the same class mysteriously vanish on the same night and at exactly the same time, a community is left questioning who or what is behind their disappearance. The film is written/produced/directed by Zach Cregger (the excellent BARBARIAN) and stars Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, Benedict Wong and Amy Madigan.

Option 1 is HIGHEST 2 LOWEST, director Spike Lee’s neo-noir crime-thriller starring Denzel Washington as a titan music mogul who is targeted with a ransom plot. Option 2 is RELAY, a sleek-action-thriller starring Riz Ahmed and Lily James that follows a broker who breaks his own rules when a new client seeks his protection to stay alive. It stars Denzel Washington, Jeffrey Wrigth, Ilfenesh Hadera, ASAP Rocky and Ice Spice (in her film debut). FIFTH COLLABORATION: Denzel Washington and Spike Lee reunite for the 5th in their long working relationship! Previous collabs include 1990’s Mo’ Better Blues, 1992’s Malcolm X, 1998’s He Got Game and 2006’s Inside Man! RELAY: This sleek-action-thriller follows a broker between corrupt corporations and the individuals who threaten them as he breaks his own rules when a new client seeks his protection to stay alive. Relay stars Riz Ahmed, Lily James and Sam Worthington and is directed by David Mackenzie, who directed the excellent Starred Up and one of my all-time favorite films Hell or High Water!
