Meetup Location: Dupont Circle (Red Line Metro) - Starting point (Take the Q Street exit from the Dupont Circle Metro Station).
Meet: Meet outside at the station. (Take the Q Street exit from the Dupont Circle Metro Station).
Bring: Your camera gear, a tripod, and a variety of lenses, extra batteries, and good walking shoes.
Tickets: There is no entrance fee or tickets required.
Info: More: Please note that there is no requirement to stay with the group if you wish to wander off onto any side roads to photograph other interesting locations. Additionally, if you wish, you can google each embassy to find images and information on the architectural elements that make each one unique and interesting.
Basic Itinerary:
Dupont Circle Walking Route (1.8 mi · ~35 mins)
- Dupont Circle (0.26 mi / 5 min to next) – Daniel Chester French marble fountain and central hub.
- Embassy of India (0.13 mi / 3 min to next) – Embassy Row landmark; Mahatma Gandhi bronze statue opposite.
- Embassy of Togo & 4. Embassy of Luxembourg (0 ft / <1 min to next) – 1909 Beaux-Arts Alexander Stewart House.
- Embassy of Greece (300 ft / 1 min to next) – Neoclassical façade on Massachusetts Ave.
- Sheridan Circle (500 ft / 2 min to next) – Gen. Sheridan equestrian statue surrounded by historic chanceries.
- Embassy of Haiti (400 ft / 1 min to next) – Historic Kalorama diplomatic mansion.
- Embassy of Cameroon (500 ft / 2 min to next) – Leafy Kalorama residential setting.
- Embassy of Côte d'Ivoire (400 ft / 1 min to next) – Prominent West African diplomatic mission.
- Woodrow Wilson House (0.1 mi / 2 min to next) – Preserved 1920s presidential residence and museum.
- Mitchell Park (0.13 mi / 2 min to next) – Quiet neighborhood greenspace and scenic overlook.
- Spanish Steps (0.42 mi / 8 min to next) – Terrace staircase and lion-head fountain linking 22nd & S St.
- Dupont Underground (0.1 mi / 2 min to next) – Repurposed subterranean trolley station art and exhibition space.
- Kramers (0.1 mi / 2 min to next) – Landmark independent bookstore, bar, and café since 1976.
- Dupont Circle (Finish) – Completes loop at the plaza with direct Red Line Metro access.

Kramers All Day is a casual dining restaurant close to Dupont Circle. We'll end back at the Dupont Circle Metro (Red Line).
Tripods: Tripods are allowed so feel free to bring your tripod or mono-pod
Silver Spring Camera Club (https://www.ssccphotography.org/) meets at interesting photogenic sites in the area ranging from DC, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and Delaware. You can shoot on your own or team up with a helpful Club member for tips and inspiration.

If you wish to join the Silver Spring Camera Club Membership remains a very reasonable $60 for individual members, $90 for family and only $35 for students. Guests are always welcome to participate.
