Sunset Cruise
Middle Meadow Walk, Edinburgh, GBThe forecast currently has the wind dropping to quite low Thursday evening, so we'll head out east from the Meadows, follow the Innocent Railway to Little France and up the Wisp to Danderhall. We'll then take the shared use path toward Old Craighall, and divert off it a bit to explore Newton Tower (just outside the walls of Dalkeith Country Park). So as not to risk locked gates ending up in a lengthy detour we'll leave the much more scenic woodland path through the park for another day, and double back onto the still under construction shared use path to Old Craighall. We'll join the path round the new estate through to run the length of the River Esk Path, turn back along the coast toward Fisherrow, and head on toward the centre via the Brunstane Burn Path. We'll conclude the journey via the Duddingston Low Road, above Dr Neil's Garden, to catch the sun setting off Duddingston Loch, before descending back to the Meadows.
Approximate route - around 20 mi return.

The rolling hills off South Lanarkshire
Bruntsfield Links, EH3 9LW, Edinburgh, GBAn idyllic 45km ride on quiet backroads through the rolling countryside of South Lanarkshire. Milkshakes at Covington Farm and Coffee & Traybake at the Tinto Tea Room.
Bike transfer available from Bruntsfield Links (0900 - 0920) with 101A bus departing Bruntsfield Place at 09:38. Return bus departs Biggar at 17:13 arriving Bruntsfield Place 18:20.
Ride will depart Biggar at 10:45.
Final logistics will be confirmed the week before.
Priority will be given to regular riders and any spaces remaining will be allocated on a first come first served basis from the waitlist which will be in operation.
