Ladies Only: Goal Focus & Accountability Session 🎯📝📚
Ladies Only: Goal Focus & Accountability Session 🎯📝📚
🎯Goal Focus & Flow is a casual, women only event created for deep focus, intentional progress, and genuine connection.🌞 Bring whatever you’re currently working on, studying, planning, writing, researching, job searching, creative projects, or personal goals and spend focused time working independently while surrounded by other women doing the same. The energy is calm, supportive, and rooted in mutual growth. At the end of the session, we’ll do a brief, optional share where participants can talk about what they worked on and what they learned. Sharing insights helps reinforce learning, spark ideas for others, and turn individual progress into collective knowledge. This space is intentionally designed to help women: 🎯 Stay accountable to their goals ✅ Learn from one another in an organic, low-pressure way 🧠 Retain what they’re working on by reflecting and sharing 👯‍♀️ Build friendships while growing side by side The shared focus and reflection create a natural sense of connection, allowing friendships to form through growth rather than small talk. Location note: For women’s safety and comfort, the venue will not be shared publicly. The exact location will be shared privately in the group chat with confirmed attendees. Join the group chat here: https://chat.whatsapp.com/H533SlZi8h70XjkN6iSEws Come as you are. Work at your own pace. Leave with clarity, momentum, and the feeling that you’re not growing alone.

>>CHANGED DATE<< January Women’s Parkour Meetup
>>DUE TO THE INCOMING BAD WEATHER, THIS EVEN HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO FEBRUARY 1ST.<< MindShift Gym has graciously offered to host our January meetup again! This event is technically free, but donations are strongly encouraged. MindShift has granted us access to their space at no cost to us, but at meaningful cost to *them*. Please consider helping them out a little, as you're able. For those of you who'd like to continue playing after this event is over, you'll have the option to stay for an additional (free) open gym session. To help MindShift get a sense of how many folks intend to come (and so that we can get your waiver taken care of ahead of time), please register for this event here: https://mindshiftgym.sites.zenplanner.com/event.cfm?eventId=260B7229-A645-43A9-BBE3-D768DEC17B16 We're looking forward to seeing you! This meetup is non-binary inclusive and open to all ability and skill levels. Whether it's your first time trying parkour or you've been training for years there will be fun challenges for everyone.

Book Club: "The Great Stewardess Rebellion" by Nell McShane Wulfhart
Book Club: "The Great Stewardess Rebellion" by Nell McShane Wulfhart
This book club will be hosted at Teaism (Penn quarter location; 400 8th St NW). However if 4 or fewer people RSVP it will be moved to virtual (https://meet.google.com/bux-wtkw-qdp?hs=224). Please check up on meetup for updates before coming. **Summary** As flying boomed in the 1960s, women from across America applied for jobs as stewardesses. They were drawn to the promise of glamour, the chance to travel, and an alternative to traditional occupations like homemaking, nursing, and teaching. But as the number of “stews” grew, so did their suspicion that the job was not as picture-perfect as the ads would have them believe. “Sky girls” had to adhere to strict weight limits at all times; gain a few extra pounds and they’d be suspended from work. They couldn’t marry or have children; their makeup, hair, and teeth had to be just so. Girdles were mandatory on the clock. And, most important, stewardesses had to resign at 32. Eventually the stewardesses began to push back and it’s thanks in part to their trailblazing efforts that working women have gotten closer to workplace equality today. Nell McShane Wulfhart crafts a rousing narrative of female empowerment, the paradigm-shifting ’60s and ’70s, the labor movement, and the cadre of gutsy women who fought for their rights—and won. \-\-\-\-\- DCNOW is the [DC chapter ](http://www.dc-now.org/)of the [national organization for women](http://www.now.org/).

Let's Make Beaded Earrings/Bracelets Together! All sorts of beads available
Please join me and your beading host Alison Butler for a fun afternoon of creativity and community! Alison says: I like color, so there are both bright and more subtle beads. I have glass, gemstone, and metal beads. I can also help with simple repairs for earrings and bracelets. Feel free to bring any beads you want or jewelry you want to repurpose. Note: There is a $30 supply fee payable to Alison, which covers making three pairs of earrings or one pair of earrings and one bracelet. If you would like to make more, there will be an additional fee for those materials. Attendance is limited, so RSVP as soon as possible and let me know if your plans change. Reach out if you have any questions. This will be held at a Momo’s Chicken and Grill in SW DC, right off the Waterfront Metro. They were kind enough to give us some space, so hopefully we will order some food or drink. Hope to see you there!!

Our second Oddball Adventure follows a teenage boy’s unexpected experience over the course of two days in the London borough of Croydon. He’s a fan of punk music, and after a good old head-banging session at a local club, he and his two buddies wander around until they happen upon a house where a party is in progress. They knock, and to their surprise they’re invited inside where strange characters are dancing to strange music. Despite the weird atmosphere, the protagonist is attracted to a girl who’s never heard of punk rock and wants to learn about it. The pair run off into the night for an escapade of cosmic proportions. ■ Title — *How to Talk to Girls at Parties* ■ Director — John Cameron Mitchell ■ Cast — Elle Fanning, Alex Sharp, Nicole Kidman ■ Rating — R ■ ©2017 \| 1h 42m \| Comedy\, Music\, Romance\, Sci\-Fi
