What we’re about
Socrates Café is a philosophy meetup that is open to absolutely everyone. We meet weekly to discuss questions that are common to all of humanity. It's held in a casual cafe environment and we encourage everyone to join in the discussion - but there's no obligation to do so. We're bringing philosophy back to the people!
Each meetup will focus around one specific question. Discussions can often veer far of this topic as related questions are explored. This is perfectly alright since to answer any question in a satisfying way related topics and subtopics have to be explored. But the aim is that each of us will walk away with either some satisfying answers to the original question or with some new important questions we have realised need to be explored further.

What does it really mean to live on purpose?
Many of us believe in free will, yet our daily choices often feel reactive, routine, or disconnected from our long-term goals. In this session, we’ll explore the philosophy and practice of conscious living—and how to align our habits and decisions with deeper personal values.### We’ll reflect on questions like:
- Do we truly have free will in our everyday lives?
- How much of our behavior is unconscious or habitual?
- What does it mean to live intentionally instead of conveniently?
- How can philosophy guide us in building a meaningful and purpose-driven life?
### Format:
We’ll start with a brief introduction, then break into small group discussions and finish with an open sharing circle. Whether you're deeply reflective or just curious, this meetup is a welcoming space to explore, listen, and connect.

Open to all. Come as you are—bring your questions, your thoughts, and your appetite (for food and for meaning).
