The human spirit is a storyteller and rejoices in weaving narratives. Our story-making ability continues even when we are asleep, in the sleeping stories we call “dreams.” These stories from unconscious depths always come in the service of wholeness and healing. As C.G. Jung said, “Dreams are the guiding words of the soul.”
Join this safe and guided approach for working with dreams. In each session, participants listen to a shared dream, imagining it as if it were their own, and then share "dream projections" of what the dream communicates to them. Together, everyone present, not only the dreamer, will work to translate the insights, guidance, and revelations offered by the unconscious into waking reality.
Group dream work honors the sacredness of dreams and dreamers by placing special emphasis on the shared wisdom coming through participants. It is therefore a collective spiritual experience, rather than an individual therapeutic session. Working with dreams opens a communication channel between conscious and unconscious worlds, allowing us to use dream messages for developing self-awareness, wholeness, and understanding.
This group is facilitated by James O'Neil, a poet and scholar originally from Rochester, Michigan. After completing his PhD at The University of Iowa and moving to Portland, he began the Dream Work certification program through The Haden Institute. James is a member of the Oregon Friends of Jung and the International Association for the Study of Dreams.
