Here's what some of our other students have to say about our classes: Dean "I started Bushin a few months ago. Having done martial arts for 5 years in another art, I was open to new ideas of what may come with this one. I am thrilled to say it has been fantastic. My instructor Stephen is a legend, he knows what he's talking about and has a no bs way of getting to a point. He is a lover of martial arts and it shows. His enthusiasm rubs off onto myself and the other students which creates a great learning environment. This art is marvellous, the group is a humble yet enthusiastic class of students coming to learn. I felt like I was part of the group the moment I joined. Higher belted student don't have an ego and are happy to help and train along side anyone in the class. Joining Bushin has been a tremendous experience." Konrad "Great place to learn self-defence . Coach with a passion to MMA show you how to react and defend yourself" Penny "I was completely new to martial arts so I didn't really know what I wanted to learn but I love the way they teach a mixture of martial arts and have a set syllabus. I felt like I was learning boxing, Kickboxing, jujitsu and self defence all in the same class which was great value for money!" Elizabeth "Great class for beginners and those with experience. Stephen is so welcoming and has been great at helping me find equipment and modify exercises to help with my mobility issues! Really recommend for anyone wanting to try martial arts or get fit in a friendly atmosphere :)" Lucia "I joined Bushin after a friend of mine was attacked in London and I thought it was a good idea to learn how to defend myself in case something like that happened to me as well. I didn't have any previous experience of self defense or fighting and I thought that this would hold me back, but it was definitely not the case: people in Bushin are so welcoming and nice to each other, always ready to help - it's truly a place for every level, from beginner to black belt. It's much more than a self defense class, it's real street fighting and a super good workout as well , but most importantly, it's great fun! I highly recommend it" Check out these and our other reviews for yourself!: [Club Reviews](https://maps.app.goo.gl/Gm9DV2xyYun55UqS8) And most importantly BOOK YOUR FREE TRIAL TODAY! London Linux Drinks: March, "Oops, it's a late announcement" Edition
London Linux Drinks: March, "Oops, it's a late announcement" Edition
It's already the end of April (and yes there have been showers). There are none forecast, but why take chances. Come meet like-minded people with a common interest in Linux in a lively pub at the at the April Linux London Meetup "Oops, it's a late announcement" edition. Whether you are a complete neophyte or Linux warrior with decades of experience, come join the chat about distros, networks, open-source software, personal projects, ... or nothing related whatever. The venue is the Hand & Racquet in Wimbledon (25-27 Wimbledon Hill Rd, SW19 7NE). [https://www.greeneking.co.uk/pubs/greater-london/hand-and-racquet](https://www.greeneking.co.uk/pubs/greater-london/hand-and-racquet) Chris and Gulraj will be sharing hosting duties with at least one of us present at each meetup. Whilst we realise that this venue is not as convenient for some people as our central London former haunts, the pub is only 2 minutes walk from the station, and Wimbledon is exceptionally well connected (only 17 minutes out of London Waterloo mainline, lies on the Sutton branch of the Thameslink, and is a terminus of both the District Line and the Croydon Tramlink). The pub is on the flat, at street level, including the toilets, although the space reserved for us (presently, at least) is a raised mezzanine area up a small number of steps at the back of the pub. We aim to be inclusive, so if this presents an issue, we'll work with the pub to adjust the arrangements in the future. Sign-ups are open. Please come join us. Directions from the station: Exit the station through the main concourse (near the District Line platforms), turn right along the main road, passing the taxi rank on Orinoco Lane. Cross Alexandra Road at the traffic lights, pass the gym on the corner, then continue past the chemist to reach the pub.

Canal Walk - Angel to Victoria Park Cafe / Market
Canal Walk - Angel to Victoria Park Cafe / Market
We will enjoy a leisurely walk (approx 45 mins - 1 hour) along Regent's Canal from Angel station and ending at the fabulous Victoria Park Market. This event usually runs on the 4th Sunday of each month, unless there is bad weather or exceptional circumstances. We are a welcoming group, so feel free to mix around and say hello other people. There is a wondering food market in Victoria Park, and most of us will get something to eat together. We usually sit on the grass or public benches (if available) near the Bonner Gate entrance, behind the Dogs of Alcibiades statue. This is at the intersection of foodstalls running north/south and east/west. If it is raining or the market is closed, we can either go to the Pavillion cafe, or The Crown pub on Grove Road instead. Please note a few points: 1\. There is currently no charge for this group\. I will need to review this again later in 2026\. 2\. WE WILL WAIT ONLY ABOUT 10 MINUTES AFTER THE START TIME\. If you are running late\, please catch us up along the canal\. Please note\, I will not be checking for meetup or whatsapp messages after the walk starts\. 3\. The nearest tube station to Victoria Park is Bethnal Green station \(central line\)\. Please check Google Maps or similar\. 4\. You are responsible for yourselves on the walk\, so please bring appropriate footwear etc\. Please be mindful of those around you\, especially where the canal gets narrow in places\. Whatsapp group here: https://chat.whatsapp.com/IJd6MJfVDPC6jUw6iW77ZY Previously, there was a separate walk on the 3rd Sunday of the month, which started at Limehouse Basin, and then ran along the same canal to Victoria Park. Please note, the walks starting from Limehouse on the 3rd Sunday of the month are now cancelled for the foreseeable future.

Free Human Towers Rehearsal + Social (Sunday)
Free Human Towers Rehearsal + Social (Sunday)
Sunday rehearsal with Castellers of London. Meet us at the OBC Community Centre to help build human towers! This get together is a great opportunity for you to meet new friends, socialise and have a go and explore your abilities as a human tower builder a.k.a Casteller! For newcomers we have a team of trained Castellers who will introduce you to the group, guide you through the activity and help you safely take part in this unique Catalan tradition. When you arrive just approach us as we are really friendly! If in doubt ask for Cuss! Please let us know if you are bringing guests. After the rehearsal we go to a nearby pub for social drinks where everyone is welcome :) What do you need? 1. Ideally a cotton shirt: to protect your neck and shoulders, the more durable the shirt/top the better. We do not recommend any thin items of clothing! 2. Jeans: allowing you to move freely without breaking. 3. Mask: We still require the use of a mask as you will be very close to your fellow Castellers - basically you will be hugging people! The rest of the equipment is on us! We take health and safety very seriously, both in relation to COVID-19 and also the activity- please be assured that the safety of all participants is of the utmost importance to us and we take all necessary precautions to minimize the risk, ensuring we all have a great time! Our regular members won't be filling in the Meet Up to say they are going 🙂 So don't be put off if you see only a handful have said they are going. A minimum of 25 on the day is normal. What the Meet Up may show is how many new people like yourself are going.
Meetup #15 Claude Code For The Rest Of Us
Meetup #15 Claude Code For The Rest Of Us
Shaping our future with AI. Creating opportunity through AI fluency, connection and community. No jargon. No hype. No confusing terminology. **Join us for our next in-person meetup in London on Wednesday April 22nd.** Our theme for this meetup is **Claude Code For The Rest Of Us.** How do you get those most from tools like Claude Code if you're not a developer? We are talking to knowledge workers, product leaders, consultants and entrepreneurs about how they use Claude Code! **Where and When?** * Wednesday, April 22nd * Doors open at 18:00 * Talks start at 19:00 * 123, Pentonville Rd, London N1 9LG **Talk: I Built A Team Of AI Agents. Here's What They Actually Do** ([Liam Darmody](https://www.linkedin.com/in/liamdarmody/), With Curious Growth) AI agents are revolutionising how we work, but the conversation is too often dominated by software development and coding. What about the rest of us? I'm a product leader who spent a decade managing human teams before building a team of AI agents to run alongside me. In this hands-on, demo-heavy session, I'll take you behind the scenes to show you how I built and manage a custom team of AI agents that handle briefing, research, writing, and meeting analysis. I give one agent a task, it pulls in the right context, and passes the work to whichever specialist agent is best suited. This isn't a theoretical talk or a product pitch. It's a practical walkthrough of what works, what doesn't, and what I've learned about designing AI agents that actually do useful work. Whether you're a founder, a strategist, or a knowledge worker looking to scale your output, you'll leave with actionable ideas on how to treat AI not as a single tool, but as a capable team working alongside you. **About Liam:** I help senior product and engineering leaders fix the real reason teams fail. Misalignment. Through executive coaching, product advisory and strategic facilitation, I support leaders to rebuild clarity, alignment and momentum so their teams perform at their best without burning out. **Panel: Getting Started With Claude Code** This is a real "for the rest of us" event. In this panel we'll be digging into the ways ANYONE can get to grips with tools like Claude Code. Liam will be joined by Maebh Booth and Miguel Luna who have been using Claude Code outside of software development to help them save time and make better decisions. **About Maebh:** Maebh Booth is a senior engineering leader focused on platform, developer experience, and the practical realities of AI across the full development lifecycle, currently working independently to help engineering organisations adopt it in a way that actually delivers value. Maebh doesn’t just use AI at work she’s also created a team of agents to help organise her life, as well as fun projects like a cocktail making app and a geneology research web app. **About Miguel:** Miguel is a Product Leader focused on Cloud Native observability, systems thinking, and practical use of AI with search context. Miguel has recently been rethinking the product role completely to get the most from LLMs including tools for cohort retention and funnel analyses, customer health signals, churn prediction, writing PRDs and one-pagers. **Thanks!** We'd like to thank our sponsors Leapter and AutogenAI for making this event possible. Also a massive shoutout to Matt Saunders who is stepping in as MC this month! **Code of Conduct** This event has a code of conduct that you can [review here.](https://aifortherestofus.live/code-of-conduct) By joining the community and registering for this event you agree to abide by our code of conduct. **Providing Your Name and Email** To register for this event you'll be asked to provide your email address. After the event you will be automatically subscribed to the newsletters from *AI for the rest of us* and Leapter GmbH. You can unsubscribe at any time (But why would you? They are really very good!)

Free In-Person Meeting: Healing from Trauma and Past Betrayals
Free In-Person Meeting: Healing from Trauma and Past Betrayals
This is a free, in person meeting. Burdened by a stressful relationship? Unhealthy relationships can trigger feelings of anger, despair or self-doubt. They can create dwindling spirals of fights and seeking to make-up, or trying to “pin the blame” on someone or something. If you don’t find the RIGHT reasons, or select the correct sources of the problem, the problem can just get worse and worse. Whether in love or personal ties, with friends or at work, our life really IS affected by the quality of our relationships. Good ones can promote pleasure and survival while less optimum ones can lead to annoyance, anger, self-doubt, stress, or even affect our health and ability to survive well. Whether you are suffering from a divorce, or a painful break-up, don’t know who to trust (or who to CHOOSE) as a partner, friend, boss or employee - the anxiety of relationship troubles can really make a mess of things. Maybe you’ve suffered a betrayal, or are dealing with hostility or criticalness or invalidation. Dwindling relationships can involve destructive behavior, where we hurt those we love, or start succumbing to self-destructive thoughts, attitudes or behaviors that spiral out of control and affect much more than our immediate relationship. Past losses in love or life can affect how we act or react to new people and situations and hold us back from even starting to create new, possibly great relationships! How can one get back onto a saner course of action? Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life: human relationships! Break free from self imposed limitations Here we will discuss: • How to “erase” the trauma of past hurts and betrayals so that one isn’t always repeating past mistakes. • Why and how do the negative emotions of others affect you? • Why is my partner withdrawing and what can I do about it? • Why do we sometimes feel compelled to hurt the ones we love? • Fights & arguments - what's really behind them? • What underlies “corrosive criticism” or the need to invalidate self or others? • How one can stably change one’s outlook on life so they can affect positive change? • Where do compulsive destructive behaviors come from and what can be done about them? • How to form closer bonds & keep growing the relationships with the people you care about? • How to enhance one’s own ability to survive and create positive healthy relationships whether in love, family & friendships or in work, business or one’s career? Relationships can be hard and life itself IS challenging. Why not arm yourself with the knowledge and breakthroughs that have been made about the mind, mental reactions & interpersonal relationships, so that one has better awareness and control over themselves and life in general. Learn where painful experiences are “stored” and how they can unknowingly affect us. You will also find out how one can “erase” those past painful experiences so that one is free to move forward without being tripped up by the past. Learn too, about what can lead some people to become “toxic” personalities and how to identify those traits in others so you won’t be tripped up trusting the wrong person. Our free Meet-ups occur in a safe environment where one can learn, without fear of judgment or criticism, and without the recommendation of harmful mental techniques or therapies, just how YOU can get yourself onto a happier & more successful path: in love & in life. We look forward to having you join us! This class is sponsored by the Dianetics & Scientology Life Improvement Center of Central Ohio.

This session introduces Squad: an open-source framework for multi-agent orchestration that lets you define teams of AI agents with specific roles, responsibilities, and expertise. We'll progress from Copilot basics to the Copilot CLI, explore how Agents add autonomy, and see how Instructions and Skills let you customize agent behavior. Then, the climax: a live demo where a Squad team of 3 agents (Lead, Developer, Tester) stands up and builds a working application in real-time, showcasing true multi-agent collaboration. Whether you're new to AI or exploring how to scale your use of Copilot, this session will show you what's possible when agents work as a team. **YouTube Link** TBD

The Story So Far: A WiA Reflection Circle
The Story So Far: A WiA Reflection Circle
A WiA Collective Wisdom Exchange At the start of this year, we gathered to look back, set intentions, and imagine the next chapter. This is the follow-up. Not a check-in. Not a progress report. A small, facilitated circle to reconnect with what you said mattered — and honestly explore what’s actually happening now. Together, we’ll explore: • What you intended at the start of this year - and what that looks like three months in • What’s surprised you, supported you, or shifted • What the next chapter needs now that you know what you know If you were at our January gathering, bring whatever you made or wrote — your word, your artifact, your intention. We’ll look at it with fresh eyes. If this is your first time, you belong here too. You’ll start where we all started: with what’s true right now. Optional art materials will be available for anyone who wants to reflect creatively alongside conversation. If you brought something home from January, you’re warmly invited to bring it back. The intention is the same as always: everyone leaves feeling more clear, more connected, and a little lighter. Space is intentionally limited to keep the experience intimate. What to Expect • A small, welcoming circle (not a large meetup) • Structured conversation so everyone has space to speak • Reflection, listening, and lived experience — not advice-giving • Optional creative reflection alongside conversation • A calm, supportive environment Who This Is For Women and underrepresented folks working in or around agile, product, technology, leadership, or organizational change — especially those looking for honest conversation and community beyond frameworks and buzzwords. Good to Know • No preparation required • If you attended in January, we invite you to bring anything you created or wrote (or something that represents your intention at the start of the year) - it’s optional but invited • Participation is invitational; listening is always welcome • Creative activities are optional
