The UX of Tamagotchis (Ben Zhu)
Tamagotchi, the tiny virtual pet from the '90s, is still around in 2025—quietly evolving with new features and technology.
This talk looks at how its design has changed over the years and why it still works today from a UX perspective. It’s a fun look at how simple, playful design can last, and maybe even bring back a bit of childhood nostalgia.
Game Experience Design (Peter Greeves)
One of the main objectives in my role as Senior GXD is to make fun, interactive and entertaining products within the framework of User Experience Design. I work alongside Games Producers and Content Teams to help them realise information and insights into the game creation processes.
I started to explore the role of UX in game development in 2016 whilst working in my previous role at Sky Betting & Gaming and have been fine tuning Game Experience Design ever since. In my talk, I will argue that Game Experience Design is a distinct new branch of UX and layout the methods, processes, and practices that define it.
