UPDATE #12: Online ticket sales have closed. Since we did not sell out, TICKETS MAY BE PURCHASED AT THE DOOR FOR $100 EACH. Please bring exact cash only. Any ticket transfers after 6pm will not be permitted.
UPDATE #11: Our original party was originally scheduled to close at 2am, with last call for open bar at 1:30am. That's still the case, but the venue has agreed to extend the event until 4am if people still wish to party. So after last call for open bar, the venue will be serving cash bar and stay open until the last of us remain standing (or until 4am)!

• Just a reminder, we will have a master list of all those that have paid. It’s not required, but I recommend printing out your payment confirmation as a backup. When you check-in, your RSVP will be listed under the name of the Paypal or credit card account used to make payment. Typically, this is your LEGAL name as shown on your driver's license. Sometimes, it may be under a company name if you set up your Paypal or credit card account that way. If you are not sure what it is, please take a moment to log into your Paypal account (it will say "Welcome, [your account name]" at the top) or your credit card account to find out. If you don't know it, or you give the wrong name, you will not be able to get in! If you are RSVP'd under someone else's payment, please use that name for check-in. Please see the "Event Checkin" section of the event posting for full details.
• Everyone needs to present a valid photo ID at check-in and to verify you are of drinking age. (21+)
• Coat check service will be available for $4. Please bring correct change for faster processing.
• Remember to TIP YOUR BARTENDERS! We have recruited some phenomenal bartenders to help us, who could be working elsewhere tonight, especially on New Year's Eve, so please make sure you show your appreciation!
• Metro will be closing at 2am. SoberRide, 800.200.8294 (TAXI), is offering free taxi rides (up to $30). Street parking is limited.
• Lastly, and most importantly, for your own safety and others, please know your limits! We are committed to responsible drinking, so don’t drink and drive, and please be courteous towards others. We want everyone to have a good time, but in compliance with state liquor law, those over intoxicated, belligerent, or unruly will be removed immediately from the event and our group. Please don't be that person that ruins the night for everyone else. As a last resort, either we or the venue will have to terminate the event should public safety be threatened.

We are privileged to be visiting the pre-launch opening of Kai, a brand new venue. I've rented out the entire location for us for New Year's Eve (9:30pm - 2am)! Kai Lounge (the old Cafe Asia) is an Asian-themed eatery and night spot and is only a half block from the Farragut West Metro. The venue features 20 foot ceilings, modern wood walls, u-shaped 2nd floor mezzanine level overlooking the first floor, a 3rd level, and 5,000 square feet of space for us to celebrate. There will be party favors in preparation for the NYE countdown and midnight celebration... which of course, will include a midnight champagne toast!!
DRESS CODE is black tie optional. So dress to impress! For gentlemen, this means jacket and tie or tux. For ladies, cocktail or formal dress. For all, creativity is encouraged! So don’t be afraid to get funky, MTV Music Award-like with your attire! This event is 21+ only!

Some of you know we rotate our New Year's Eve event at different venues every year or 2 to explore all that Washington DC has to offer. Other New Year's Eve events host the same party at the same location every single year. I said last year was likely our last New Year's Eve event, but enough people have convinced me to do it again. Kai is a smaller venue than we normally reserve. As a result, our attendance cap (600 people) is about half that of year's past. So get your tickets early, as we always sell out!
Additionally, we also get VIP access to Eden, the venue right next door, (pending capacity) which is also open to the general public (the general public however, does not have access to our event at Kai). A 2-for-1 deal! For those that don't know, Eden is dressed up with wood walls, waterfalls, and loads of green LEDs. It looks like something out of Avatar. In fact, some of the plants were actually sourced from the same folks who sourced plants for the movie. Our "open bar" applies only to our party at Kai.

Metro and Parking
The closest Metro is Farragut West (Orange, Blue, Silver lines). I suggest Metro / cabbing if you can. I also recommend using wmata.com (http://www.wmata.com) for travel planning. Don't forget to account for Metro, traffic, and parking delays. If you are driving, you will need to find street parking or a garage.

Please follow the instructions below for making payment (if payment by smartphone doesn't work, please try your computer). Payment at the door will be permitted only should the event not sell out. Most of our events do sell out, so we recommend you secure your spot online early. If you make payment for less than the current ticketed price displayed without prior correspondence, your RSVP will be removed.

Refund Policy
Since we paid in advance for this event, all sales are final unless the event is canceled or rescheduled. If the event is canceled, you will receive a full refund. If the event is rescheduled, an UPDATE will be posted at the top of the event posting, and the UPDATE will also be sent as an email to the yes RSVPs. A full refund will be given to those that let us know within 3 calendar days of the UPDATE email if you are unable to make the new date. No refunds will be given after that time. Ticket Resell
Similar to a concert ticket or a football game ticket, you are free to sell your ticket to someone else if you are unable to attend. I suggest posting in the comment box for the event, that you have a ticket for sale. Work out payment between yourselves, and have the seller only send the organizer a "message" through their Meetup profile (do not comment in the comment box of the event posting) letting us know the full name and Meetup profile URL (if a member) of the person taking your spot. You must let us know by the RSVP close time of 6pm on the day of the event.
Special Needs
If you have any special needs (e.g. wheelchair, dietary for events with food included, etc.), let us know in advance (a week or more before the event) and we will do our best to accommodate. If you let us know the day of the event, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate. Thank you for understanding and we appreciate the courtesy of a heads up!
Open Bar
To keep drink lines moving as efficiently as possible and to be fair to everyone, we have a 1 drink per person at-a-time policy for open bar. You may order multiple drinks at once, but each person it goes to must be present in line.
