21st Century Network was set up to discuss some of the great issues of our millennium and bring back the hope that we can do something about it. This is a group for those who believe that we need to develop a new form of humanism that includes people of all religions and none but who embrace humanistic values as the basis of their actions. These are values of global compassion, personal self-discovery, shared development, planetary concern and a love of community. One commentator states,
"I think this group has the potential to make a very important contribution on a number of global challenges that are and will affect our lives in the future. By inviting members of the public, NGO practicioners, policy makers and government representatives to these meetings the group could become an important think tank on a number of issues fostering important linkages between the state and civil society in Britain and beyond. As we live increasingly in a fast changing and diverse society that is both local and global leadership is crucial. The old top down hierarchical forms of leadership is outdated and unsustainable. So what are the styles and content of leadership needed for the 21st Century. we need leadership where trust is important.
