About 21st Century Network

21st Century Network (GlobalNet21) started in 2007 through the internet Meetup Site to encourage people to meet together to discuss some of the great issues of the 21st century and then follow this up with further debate and action. It was about enlarging the Public Square where debate takes place using social networks to bring new audiences of people into that debate. We already have over 2,300 members on the meetup site and over 1,000 friends on Myspace as well as a presence on Linkedin and Twitter.

Find Out More About Our Activities

As a result of our activities a number of social action groups and further discussion groups have been formed. You can connect with this growing number of groups on our

Ning Platform and on our

In almost three years this has become more successful than we had dared imagine. Because we developed on various sites like meetup, myspace, linkedin, twitter and others 21st Century Network is essentially a network organisation. It is not a membership organisation with paid up members but a wide web of networkers and engagers from a diverse range of sites and mailing lists. The idea is to create a network structure where people and organisations are empowered to take part in what we do in the way that they want. It is about thought, enterprise and democracy and yet it is a democracy that reflects the complex nature of our world that is both global and local.
