Hey Everyone,

Who knew I would need to have an etiquette message to adults in a meetup group? But based on a couple of nasty encounters with some now ex-members I felt the need to pass on some tips.

First it does take a bit of work to organize a meetup group. I have never asked anyone to pitch in for cost or charged for any events. I’m not here to make money from meetup just to provide an avenue for you guys to meet each other. I’m also not here to have the biggest group in San Diego - I decided to limit the group to 300 people.

With all that said here is the 30+ Get out and Do Something Etiquette List & other tips

• Please keep your RSVP up-to-date It really is SO easy to be courteous and I need to depend on people’s headcount to be accurate at some events. If you RVSP ‘maybe’ please update it with 48 hours of the event. It’s hard for me to know who to wait for when 30 people are still listed as ‘maybe’ on event day.
• Members who RVSP ‘Yes” for an event. Will generally receive important email updates the day before the event. This will include my cell phone number and any last minute changes. If you RVSP Yes the day of the event I can’t guarantee to get you that information. If you RVSP within 2 hours of an event, really c’mon help me out a little. If you forget to write down my cell phone and can’t find us at an event location I’m sorry I just can’t help you. If you don't get an email with my cell number write me!
• I’m here to organize the event. When I list an event time please give yourself enough time to park and get there at the schedule time. I generally will wait a couple minutes outside but will not wait much longer before going in. I’m not here to carpool with you, hold your hand during the entire night, or pitch in for you if you don’t have enough cash for your bill. I will do my best to introduce you to as many members as possible, give you accurate instructions, and post any events you are interested in hosting that I think our applicable to the group.
• Some of our events have alcohol involved. Please drink responsibly and don't hesitate to call a cab home if you need it. I’m not your babysitter I will not sit with you until you sober up.
