3D computer vision meetup #15

It's been too long since we last met!

Let's gather and share our 3D computer vision projects and companies. Presentations will begin promptly at 7:30, but you can show up as early as 7 if you'd like. If you're interested in giving a presentation, please let me know what you'd like to talk about. Presentations should be no longer than 10 minutes. Both technical and nontechnical presentations are welcome as long as they relate to 3D computer vision.

Presentation schedule:

General ecosystem update - Tango and RealSense (Matt Bell)

MatterPort quality updates and showcase scans (Matt Bell)

Occipital Structure Sensor remote scanning demo (Kai)

Second Life viewer via Oculus (Philippe Bosut)

3Gear gesture interface demo (Robert Wang)

Space Palette update (Tim Thompson)

Hackathon announcement? (Damon H)

Hey! I know a lot of you are working on awesome projects or are from companies doing interesting things. You should get up and share what you're up to! Yes, you! Talks only have to be 5-10 minutes and don't have to be super polished. Send me a message if you want to present!

I'd like to show a video update of the latest Space Palette, which has just been installed in the San Jose Tech Museum as part of a 6-month exhibit called REBOOT:music.

Wondering if anyone is driving down from sf and wouldn't mind if I tagged along. I don't have a car but really want to be at this meetup.

Harry, I am also trying to figure out a way down to this event from San Francisco. If I work something out, I will reply again here. Likewise if you find a ride and have space for one more, please let me know.

Hey everyone -- please let me know if you have something to present at the event! The event is as awesome as the stuff you bring to share.

We are trying to help save Rhinos and Elephants from extinction. We need people who have computer vision expertise to give us a hand in developing an anti-poaching drone system. If you can help, please email me at [masked], thank you.
