7 Fundamental Organizing Principles of the 3to5Club.
1) Business Owners should be more focused on building a business that makes money than on making money.
2) A business owner focused on building a business that makes money will always create more wealth than a business owner focused on making money today.
3) The biggest reason we don't focus on building a business: we are ruled by the Tyranny of the Urgent and never get around to the Priority of the Important (building a business that makes money).
4) Every type of business can go from inception to maturity in 3 to 5 years, and under the best and worst of circumstances, 2 to 7 years. PICK A DATE & TIME - WHAT IS YOUR BUSINESS MATURITY DATE?
5) Few people who bought or started a business are actually "business owners". There are seven stages to a business. In Stages 1-4, people who think they own a business have a business that owns them. 3 to 5 years to build a mature business is normal. 15-25+ years is average. 3to5Club members are normal, not average.
6) 3 to 5 years is normal, but is unlikely unless the business owner has two bosses in place:
Boss #1 - a 12 month revolving Strategic Plan (not a Business Plan) from which they run their business and make all critical decisions.
Boss #2 - an advisor or committed and intentional peer advisory group to provide objective clarity and support from outside the business.
7) Why and When are the two most important and least asked questions in business. 3to5Club members don't focus just on what they sell, where they sell it, who they sell it to, and how they make and sell it. 3to5Club members always attach why and when to what, where, who and how. WHAT IS YOUR BUSINESS MATURITY DATE?
