I hav hardware and some software for editing. I would love to get involved. I hv experience with rotoscoping as well, so I wouldn't mind devoting some weekly time to the arduous task.

[48-Hour-Films-Detroit] Status Update on Productions

Thought some of you might be curious what is the status of our three productions to date.

Hell's Hot Line -  Still in edit.  Bit off more than I could chew skill-wise with After Effects editing.  The basic editing is done, there is just some green screen removal quality issues as well as one area that has to be rotoscoped (frame by frame removal of people in background).  Just updated my computer and software to enable better video editing capabilities.  1-2 more months considering continuous involvement in other productions.

That's Hollywood - Musician recently completed the soundtrack which now must be added to the edited film. Waiting to meet up to obtain.  1 month.

Stuffed - 48 Hour Project.  Although completed for the festival, there were a number of technical issues we'd like to fix.  Back in edit.  Our editor on this, Josh, recently suffered a loss in the family (our condolences) so this will be further delayed.  There is no rush.  2 months.

Just a note on post production - it commonly takes longer than the actual production.  We are a learning group with members operating equipment that have learning curves.  Issues in production must be fixed in post which adds a lot of time.

Want to thank both Josh and Greg for the editing hands.  Anybody else that has the software, hardware, and skills we invite you to help us out.

We still have at least two, possibly three more productions this year.  Red Scarf is shooting this weekend 11 August.  I asked for script submittals for the Sept production to include lots of extras so we can get more actors involved.  5-10 main parts and 10-20 extras?  Writers lets go!  Before one is filmed we are planning the next.
