Python Meetup

757 Labs (map)

Selected By: Jeff Self

757 Python Users Group meeting.

We've moved away from a web focus and we're looking at other uses of Python.

- Controlling VMWare through PyVIX

- Multiprocessing

I think that applying Python DBA work might be interesting, too.

We'll come up with others as the questions and comments arise.

The subprocess module and PyCon are the subjects for the prepared presentations. Every month, we also like to share the things we've done recently that are Pythonic. Most of the time, the open conversation leads to a topic for next month.

Come prepared to share your questions and answers.

@s_lott got through his presentation on multiprocessing before a painful digression into sailboats. @alfredchiesa talked about the value of attending PyCon.

It was very informative and the group was obviously interactive. I will definitely be active in this group. I haven't programmed in python in a while but it was just like riding a bike after I got home! The presenter kept my attention the whole time and talked about cool topics.

This was a great start to my learning of a new language
