757 Python Users Group meeting.
For now, we're going to be looking at web applications and web application frameworks. We'll start with Django. We'll move on to others, depending on the interest folks have.

So.... is anyone thinking about taking over as meetup organizer?

I'm planning on it in the next few days.
Sorry I missed the last meeting. I was out of town for a meeting. Is the group still active? I had the impression it was no longer meeting...
Totally active. Meeting regularly except once when I was out-of-town. Need a new meetup organizer, or a new channel for scheduling meetup.
It was a GREAT meetup... code sharing, code discussion and more!!

Great to see Steve and Mike rip my Python "app" apart! Actually, its a script for now. But with their suggestions, hopefully I can make it an app.

Can't wait. Tired of dealing with this C app. Looking forward to seeing your recommendations on improving my app!

And. Bonus. We'll have a chance to debug some common mistakes that folks new to Python might make. This has a not-so-obvious bug that makes it not run at all. That debugging will be interesting, also.
Jeff, this is a great example because of the conversion from C to Python. Since C is so lame (so few useful data structures), the C legacy makes it difficult to see what *should* be done in Python.
We'll look at improving performance.

Great idea: project up on my github account: https://github.com/jeffself/team...
The project contains the new python app, rankings.py, the first python app, fbratings2.py, and the working C app, nflratings.c. I also have an example data file called scores1979.txt. This is a pipe-delimited version and doesn't work with the old python app or the C app.
