Calstar 2013

Date: Thu,[masked]:00 to Sun,[masked]:00

Observing Site: Lake San Antonio (CalStar Site)

That was fun last year! Lets do it again!!

New Moon is on the 4th.

CalStar is a pure observing event, there's no services on site except porta potties, showers, and water, and the dark skies of southern Monterey County, in a dry protected bowl. We camp in an overflow area of Lake San Antonio South Shore facilities. No vendors, no public night, no green laser pointers :)

A perfect end-of-summer gathering.

Are we allowed to stay over on Sunday night also? Does anybody typically spill over to stay that night?

    Question:
I read about the layout and the 3 different areas. This will be just my 2nd star party. The only other star party I attended was GGSP this year. I wonder if the behavior there was like the "dark enforced area" or more like the "casual area". I want to do imaging, so the darker, the better for me.

We just packed our scope and tent in a pod. :( Maybe next year we'll be back stargazing again!
