Apparently there is quite the buzz about going to see the upcoming advanced screening of Mission Impossible—Ghost Protocol...
I have heard from a group of people who tried to get the free passes but the passes were “sold OUT”.
I contacted the supplier who said that the first 100 were snatched up by my groups nearly immediately and yet the rsvps on my group sites showed no where near that number of attendees as having rsvp'd “YES” for the event.
I then contacted the supplier again to see if they could release another batch of tickets, and they had another (final) 50 to release. And still (again) the number of yes rsvp's didn't go up that significantly, and some of the prior 'yes' ones had to come back to our group sites to change the yes to no – as when they tried to actually get some passes, they saw a message that said the passes are gone.
So, the reason I'm writing...
First off—to see who all ACTUALLY got passes, how many they got (some were able to obtain a “guest” pass) and;
if they did get a guest pass—are they actually using it for a guest or did they order one “just in case” and don't really need it at this time after all.
If you no longer require your main pass (with your name printed on it), please revisit the website
and “release” the pass(es) so others may obtain them. (if on the other hand you just don't need your 'guest' pass, then please contact me so that you can send the link of the pdf to me so that I can print those and bring them along with me to the screening so that I can disperse them to the people still hoping to attend)
This email is also to find out from the people who rsvp'd NO, but actually still wish to attend (as well as the people on a 'waiting' list on our group site) to send me in their EMAIL address so that I can send them information if we are able to collect any more free passes.
So, what I need for you to do if you received ANY passes:
Email me: at [address removed] (from your own personal email acct)
you got a pass,
how many, (and do you need both if you got two)
what your profile ID name is on meetup,
which of my meetup groups that you got the information/event outing listing from
go back to the meetup group site and correct your rsvp (or add it there at this time if you forgot to the first go around)
And for people still looking to attend:
Contact me at the above email address indicating you wish to attend (include your cell number/phone number along with your main email address)
Hopefully we can get as many to be able to attend as who wish to!
