First off, thank you to Caitlin, who organized, and everyone who attended this past week's Meet Up at Hi-Hat. I had a lot of fun seeing those of you who I already know and meeting a couple new eaters. As a whole I think the event was a great success.
Thank you also to those of you who rated this Meet Up. I'm glad to see people are enjoying these brunches as much as I am. That being said, I want to make sure our ratings are as close to 5 stars as possible. Please let me know if there is anything we can do to make these more accessible or if there are any comments you may have. I love hearing people's suggestions and incorporating them into this relatively new group.
I know a couple of you have suggested doing an event at a tapas restaurant. I will be working out the logistics of this Meet Up and I'll keep everyone informed. There is a great tapas restaurant in Waukesha which I've been to several times and have loved. They're a large enough establishment where we might be able to expand the number of available spots to 20-25, so more people can be brought into this wonderful group. Since tapas are meant to be shared, I'm thinking have people pool their money ahead of time and then having everyone share multiple dishes. Does this sound like something people might be interested in doing?
On a side note, Megan and I went on a recon mission to Blue's Egg this morning on 76th street in Wauwatosa. It's a relatively new place opened by the owners of Maxie's Southern Comfort. The decor is[masked]'s art deco with a wonderful menu to match. http://www.bluesegg.com/menu.html
The service was amazing and the food exceeded already high expectations. I'm somewhat tempted add an event sometime in the near future, so I can share my excitement with all of you.
Finally, a quick thank you to everyone who has joined my group. Starting out I thought I'd be happy getting a handful of people to join my Meet Up, but to realize that I"m approaching 100 members is beyond me. I'd love to reach that 100 member mark as soon as I can. That being said, if you know anyone who'd love to enjoy a good meal with a wondering group of people, don't hesitate to point them our direction.
