About Us
The Atheist Community of Tulsa (ACT) is a diverse community of over 600 "Green Country" non-theists organized to develop and support the atheist community, to provide opportunities for socializing and friendship, to promote secular viewpoints, to encourage positive atheist culture, to defend the first amendment principle of state-church separation, to oppose discrimination against atheists and to work with other organizations in pursuit of common goals and is open to all Tulsa-and-surrounding-area individuals who define themselves as either atheists, Atheists, agnostics, humanists, any variety of freethinker and/or any friends and family of the aforementioned individuals. We are proudly affiliated with American Atheists and Atheist Alliance of American.
About Our Finances
Dues are currently set at $20 a minimum per year. Our dues structure is tiered, however, and you may pay more if you wish to be recognized. You do not have to be a member to participate in the group, but only members have the right to vote on matters. Dues are used to help defray the expenses of advertising, outreach, tabling, Meetup, website upkeep, conventions, honorariums for various speakers, et al. Donations are always welcome.
About the Freethought Lending Library
ACT maintains a lending library of books and other materials that may be of interest to freethinkers. To view the list of items that are currently available, please click here.) Library materials may be borrowed by any ACT member at no charge (so long as items are returned in good condition). Library items may be checked out for up to 1 month. Donations of new or used materials (books, DVDs, magazines, etc.) that are related to freethought, religion, or skepticism are gratefully accepted.
