Night Series for January #2: Do We Need Business Cards?

Details

UPDATE: I unfortunately found out at almost the last minute that the meeting room I thought I'd booked at the pizza place was in fact already reserved, and they missed it when I called. So we're heading to our back-up location, the good old tried-and-true Galaxy Cafe at the Lamar Triangle.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Join your fellow designers for drinks and/or dinner this Wednesday evening at 7pm. The ADVAnet will be having it's second Night Series meeting of January on Wednesday the 23rd at Galaxy Cafe, 4701 N. Lamar.

We don't usually have a serious program or presentation for our restaurant meetups, but after seeing some articles on this subject recently, I've chosen a discussion topic for the meetup: "Do We Need Business Cards"? We can share the business cards we have, discuss the ones we've seen from other people that made us jealous, and then talk about how online communication has changed everything, or maybe even made them outright obsolete. We'll also discuss online options like About.me, Flavors.me and Re.vu, the so-called "business card websites". There are even business card themes for WordPress.

Look for the big ADVAnet sign I put on our table, as I'm not sure if we'll have the long table in the back or put together a few in the middle. And if you haven't been there before, the easiest place to park is the parking deck off of 46th St., then walk through the alley towards the Flying Saucer – Galaxy Cafe is right next door to that. We'll start socializing and having food and drink at 6:30, and discussion starts at 7:00 or soon after. Looking forward to seeing many of you there!
