The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, has been at the forefront of a wide range of suicide prevention initiatives in 2010 -- each designed to reduce loss of life from suicide. We are investing in groundbreaking research, new educational campaigns, innovative demonstration projects and critical policy work. And we are expanding our assistance to people whose lives have been affected by suicide, reaching out to offer support and offering opportunities to become involved in prevention.
We are increasing the number of community-based chapters, now at 39, with two-dozen more in development. Orange County is one of those chapters in development. This group of volunteers is dedicated to helping our community learn how you can help to save a life.
With more than 2,700 attempts made every year in Orange County, your help is needed immediately. The are several committees you can volunteer your time and effort for in our community. Try one or try all, either way, you’ll find that there’s a great team of people bringing positivity, passion and friendship in support of our cause.
