Welcome to the Meetup Group dedicated to the Motorcycle Riders of The American Legion. This site is hosted by Post 2, Tempe, AZ of the American Legion Riders.
During the course of the last few months Post 2 has operated this site for the mutual benefit of all American Legion posts in the immediate area that have a rider affiliate but no public forum for discussions. During the course of those few months we have had some interest but not much. So it has been decided to alter course and have membership in the Meetup site limited to Post 2 ALR members.
To participate in this site you must be a member or potential member of Post 2, Tempe AZ. You should be interested in joining the Legion Riders and this is your opportunity to learn about the purpose of ALR and decide if it's a commitment you wish to make. We are serious about what we're doing and want you to be, also.
We want to use this forum as a way to attract additional people to join Post 2 and then the Riders.
To join, you can check out your options here http://www.legionfamily.com/ .
Then come by Post 2 on a Friday or Saturday night and let the people there know that you want to join. It's $35 to join the Legion and $20 to join the ALR. Patches for the vest are additional.
The word "Legion" refers to the American Legion, Legion Auxiliary or Sons of the American Legion. Women riders can join the Auxiliary
Although membership in this site will only be for ALR members of Post 2, Tempe, AZ that doesn't mean we have forgotten or will be forgoing our obligations as a whole to the American Legion family. We are more then willing to help other posts do what we have done to provide a real-time forum for members to discuss anything and every thing under the sun. We will be more then happy to give you the benefit of our experience to establish your own member forum. Just e-mail our Charlie team and they will get back to you
If the American Legion Post near you has the Rider affiliate, give them a call. If they don't have one, encourage them to add one.
