Cycle the Larkin Bridle Trail to Rich Farm Ice Cream

Details
(MB, RL/HL, 10mph) 25 miles. Meet at 10 a.m. to ride at 10:15 a.m. from the Larkin Bridle Trail parking lot at 820 Church St. (Rt. 63), Naugatuck. Peaceful ride on former railroad bed with gravel surface, perfectly suited for those wanting to try off-road riding, but are unsure of what to expect. This route will include a few miles of mostly quiet backroads (with some hills) to avoid rough parts of trail, and to provide a refreshing stop at Rich Farm Ice Cream in Oxford. Otherwise, expect moderate terrain on an old railroad bed and no cars. If you want food other than ice cream, you will need to bring your own. Bring enough water for the trip, as there are no water options at the farm. Mountain bikes are recommended. A hybrid bicycle will work, but may give a bumpy ride on some of the rougher surfaces along the trail. No stores, so bring food and water. Helmets are always required on AMC bicycle rides. The leader will provide cue sheets.
