This group was established in 2010 by a small group of amputees who met while receiving outpatient physiotherapy at St. John's Rehab Hospital in Toronto, Canada.  


Right from the get go, we realized how important it was for amputees and caregivers to have a social network outside of the hospital/rehab setting where we could share ideas, and be able to learn from one another.  We can all learn from one another through our own personal experiences, both positive and negative.  Limb loss can be a devastating life change whether your amputation was due to trauma, medical conditions and complications, or cancer.  But in knowing that you are not alone, we hope you'll become more confident and optimistic about moving forward in life.


We have been holding meetings since October 2010, and group meetings are held every month and are approximately 2-3 hours in duration.  The format is typically open-forum and topics vary based on the needs of our members.  These topic-focused meetings are meant to provide general and educational information for a wide range of topics that are pertinent to amputees and caregivers.  (We encourage our members to share their ideas on what topics they are interested in and we will try our best to meet these requests.)  Aside from monthly meetings, we also organize various social activities throughout the year!  

We will continuously provide more information on this page of past and current meetings/events and topics of interest.

This is a journey, as much as it is a life change.  Meet like-minded people, share your experiences, and build long-lasting friendships!
