Let's discuss APIs in downtown SF

This will be our second meetup, this time in downtown SF. Mashery has been kind enough to host us at their office in Market St. A big thanks goes out to Delyn and Sarah for making this possible!

We'll have a guest speaker to begin with (aiming for 6pm) and then we'll hold a couple of open space format sessions.

Our guest speaker for this session will be Tyler Singletary (@harmophone), Director of Platform for @KloutAPI.

Tyler's talk will focus on "Optimizing APIs for Mobile".

See you there!

Is this meeting RSVP only? Would like to attend tonight but RSVP's are closed

    November 14, 2013

    • Emmanuel P.

Hi Cristophe, the meeting is RSVP only. We're required to send an attendee list to our host ahead of time, so we can get in the building. Let me see if I can add you.

As somebody who does not work downtown, I love when meetups are at 6:30 or 7:00 and it increases my attendance rate dramatically.

Excellent feedback! I think we're locked on timing for this particular session, but in the future, do you think something like starting the talk at 6:30 PM, while leaving 6-6:30 for 1-on-1 chatting be reasonable?

      November 12, 2013

    • Jeff G.

I think that starting the talk/talks at 6:30 works better in general. That sounds great. That way the non-downtown folks don't have to walk in on the middle of a talk!

I will need live streaming is these meetups start so early. I can't get from work to the meetup by 5:30. 6:30 is the earliest I can manage. If I'm the only one in that situation, then don't change it. But I think many would have the same problem.

    • Brandur

Hi Keith, it seems like you're not the only one in this situation. We're locked in for timing already for this one, but we'll try to feel out what time people would prefer for the next session.

No problem. I'll look for the video. I work in the south bay so it takes a a while to get back to SF. I also ride the company bus and I'm locked into their schedule. But 6:30 usually works for me. I can squeeze in 6pm but anything earlier is difficult. Thanks for checking in.

I am lookig forward to the meeting. I just moved to San Fran from New York to seek funding for my start-up in Mobile technology and to learn more about the tech communty and resources at large.

Actually, don't go out of you way for live streaming unless there is some other kind of interaction. If I just watching, live streaming and dead (post-event) streaming are equal. :)

We have a poll up: I'd like to know if your opinion on live streaming the meetup: http://www.meetup.com/API-Craft-San-Francisco/polls/
Please vote, I'd love to hear your opinion.

A last minute trip came up so I can't make it :-(
Shout out to @Brandur who's stepped up and agreed to run this event!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
