APIs & IoT

Details

We're excited to announce the first ever IoT-themed API Craft SF gathering!

Venue: Tradeshift is hosting us for this meetup.

On the night of the event we will have people working the doors for the first 30 minutes*

Speakers:

  1. Peter Hoddie, VP of the Kinoma (http://kinoma.com/) Platform (@phoddie (https://twitter.com/phoddie))

Peter, co-founder of Kinoma and formerly Chief QuickTime Architect at Apple, will talk about Kinoma's API design approach. KinomaJS (http://kinoma.com/develop/documentation/) is the open source application framework uniquely designed to build the core applications of IoT devices using JavaScript.

  1. Kevin Swiber, IoT Engineering Coach, Apigee (http://apigee.com/) (@kevinswiber (https://twitter.com/kevinswiber))

Kevin, creator of the Siren Hypermedia spec, (https://github.com/kevinswiber/siren) will be talking about ZettaJS: Designing an API for the Internet of Things.

Zetta (http://www.zettajs.org/) is an open source platform built on Node.js for creating Internet of Things servers that run across geo-distributed computers and the cloud. Zetta combines REST APIs, WebSockets and reactive programming – perfect for assembling many devices into data-intensive, real-time applications.

Food and drinks will be provided.

*If arriving after 6:30PM, you will have to use the call box to get into the building. You will dial 100 to reach our office. Once you are in the building we are located on the first floor to the right. You will need to ring the doorbell to be let into the office.
