AR in Print and Publishing

This location is shown only to members

I'm delighted that ARCH is partnering with Alcatel-Lucent and MNC, which will host this special four hour ARCH meeting at its premises in Zurich.

Augmented reality is a technology offering a wide range of benefits to those who communicate via print of all forms: periodicals, long form works (books), signage, business cards, packkaging and flyers. Augmented Reality combined with print prolongs the life and utility of the “traditional” print medium and provides new revenue streams for publishers and printers.

During the January 2011 Swiss AR meetup group event, invited experts from Switzerland and neighboring countries will introduce how AR applications leverage the assets of publishers and printers, provide business cases and concrete examples for exploring the technology capabilities. Following the presentations, there will be refreshments and demonstrations during networking time.

This meeting will assist professionals in the print/publishing trade and vendors who are serving the communications industry to get familiar with AR and to explore the use of AR for their customers and readers. They will have the opportunity to meet with AR experts and service providers who specialize in AR experiences.

Agenda: The most current version of the ARCH meeting agenda is found on this page.

The chair of ARCH, Christine Perey, will make opening remarks and introduce the host of the meeting, Alcatel-Lucent, and our invited speakers.

is it really 1:30pm? Isn't it possible to organize such interesting events in the afternoon like 5-7pm?

Yes, this is really a full afternoon meeting. In fact, we will have to be very careful because there's so many examples and so much to say on this topic. You are welcome to join us when you are available after normal business hours.

    Regards,

    Christine
