ASTD Alaska (American Society for Training & Development) Pages

ASTD Alaska Chapter is based in Anchorage as a chapter of the American Society for Training & Development (ASTD). ASTD Alaska serves members living throughout this large, geographically challenging state, using electronic communications to overcome distance & travel expense. The Alaska Chapter was formed in 1995 & remains a key resource to trainers & educators in adult learning settings.

ASTD (American Society for Training & Development) is the world’s largest association dedicated to workplace learning & performance professionals. ASTD’s members come from more than 100 countries & connect locally in 134 U.S. chapters, 26 Global Networks, & 12 Global Partners. Members work in thousands of organizations of all sizes, in government, as independent consultants, & suppliers.

ASTD started in 1943. In recent years, ASTD has widened the profession’s focus to link learning & performance to individual & organizational results, & is a sought-after voice on critical public policy issues. ASTD’s mission & vision are built on professional ethics & purposes that are global, oriented toward excellence & positive change.

2010 marks the 15th Anniversary of ASTD in Alaska!
