A Snail's Pace Running Academy-Brea/Yorba Linda Pages

A Snail's Pace Running Academy Brea/Yorba Linda chapter began in 2002 with only two classes for the Long Beach half and full marathons. The class was so successful that we never stopped.

All our classes meet together in Anaheim at Yorba Linda Regional Park on Saturday mornings at 7:00 am. We meet on the south end of the park near the baseball diamonds and the large dirt lot. The park is located on La Palma Ave just west of Fairmont.

Running 100-Series- All these classes meet three days a week for 12 weeks for 36 sessions

RA101- Beginning 5k training- This class meets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:00 pm at A Snail's Pace Running Shop in Brea and on Saturday mornings in Anaheim. This class will begin with brisk walking and 30-seconds of easy jogging. After five stages of progression you will be prepared to run a 5k.

RA102- Beginning 10k training- This class meets on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:00 pm at A Snail's Pace Running Shop in Brea and on Saturday morning at 7:00 am in Anaheim. This class will begin with easy running for 40-minutes on the first day. (at least 3 months running experience or immediate completion of RA101 is required to enroll in this class)

RA103- Running with Fitness- This class is seasonal and is usually offered in the spring and summer sessions. I developed RA103 to be competitive with the popular "bootcamps". This is similar where various exercises for strengthening the core are executed however our main focus is running and you will be running up to 10-miles in this class. (at least 6 months of running experience or immediate completion or RA102 is required to enroll in this class)

Advanced running classes

RA201- Half Marathon Training- This is a 16-week course designed to prepare the runner to complete a half marathon or 13.1 miles. We offer preparation for Surf City, Cinco De Mayo, Orange County, Disneyland, and Long Beach half marathons. This class only meets on Saturday mornings at 7:00 am in Anaheim. (at least 6-9 monthes of running experience or completion or RA102 or RA103 is required to enroll in this class)

RA301-Marathon Training- This is a 26 week training in preparation for the grueling 26.2 mile marathon. We begin every six months. We offer preparation for Los Angeles Marathon in Spring and Long Beach Marathon in Autumn. ( at least 9-12 months of running experience, or completion of a half marathon within 3 months of the class start date or completion of RA201 is required to enroll in this class)

In all classes you will learn about proper stretching, running form mechanics, proper footwear, nutrition, injury prevention and management.

You will also recieve 10% discount on all purchases at any A Snail's Pace Running Shop for the duration of your training.
