ATAC is the Amsterdam Triathlon and Cycling club. Our objective is to promote, develop and foster the sports of triathlon, swimming, cycling, and running. Monday Night Beginner Rides are back!
If you have an ATAC kit, please wear it. Every Monday until the end of September.Beginner (or social Intermediate) evening ride. This will be the infamous Ronde Hoep Loop.
Total distance is ~26/43km, depending on the amount of "Hoeps", starting from the Riekermolen. We'll do the following route:
Monday Night Ride "Ronde Hoep"Ride Outline:
- Start as a group, warm up until Ouderkerk aan de Amstel
- Slowly through Ouderkerk aan de Amstel
- 1 or 2 laps, do be decided by the group on the day
- Back to Riekermolen as a group
There will be a briefing at the start about safety and regroup points.
Easy and more social riding. Contribution to the group within ability. Paced to slowest rider with multiple regrouping. Should be capable of riding up to 60km at this pace.
Rules:
- Beginner ride, speed >= ~27km/h (low wind / flat road cruising speed)
- Single file over the bridges as it is difficult to see the way ahead
- Helmets are mandatory
- Riding on aero bars is prohibited while riding in the group.
- If there are more than 8-10 people joining, we split into smaller groups
- No speeding in built-up areas
- Wear your ATAC kit if you have one

- Tuesday Night Advanced RideCentraal Station - IJplein, Amsterdam, NH
Tuesday Night Advanced Rides are back!
If you have an ATAC kit, please wear it. Every Tuesday until the end of September.Advanced evening ride. This will be a loop up North through Purmerend and Spijkerboor, and we will cross the Kogerpolderbrug where we will head back to Amsterdam through West-Graftdijk and Purmerend.
Total distance is ~60km, starting from Central Station. We'll do the following route:
Tuesday Night Ride NorthRide Outline:
- Start as a group, warm up until Purmerend
- Slowly through Purmerend
- Split into smaller groups after Purmerend to go a bit faster
- There will be regrouping points.
There will be a brief briefing about safety and regroup points at the start.
Attendees are expected to have experience riding in groups and to be comfortable with the pace.
Rules:
- Advanced ride, average speed >= 30 km/h
- Single file over the bridges as it is difficult to see the way ahead
- Helmets are mandatory
- Riding on aero bars is prohibited while riding in the group.
- If there are more than 8 people joining, we split into smaller groups
- No speeding in built-up areas
- Wear your ATAC kit if you have one

These sessions are great for seasoned and beginner runners wanting to push themselves with some interval training and technique coaching. We will do these at the Flevo Park running "track" so you are never too far away!
These sessions will consist of anaerobic endurance workouts focusing on improving your lactate thresholds and increasing your VO2Max. Note that as we progress, our sessions may range from 45min - 1.5 hours.
