Artist Trading Cards began with an exhibition by an artist who asked attendees to bring their own cards to trade for his, swapping art for art, creating a participatory event that continues today.
ATC's are 2.5" x 3.5" and are decorated any way you like, from collage, to painting, to stitchery. Scrapbooking supplies and stamps are popular choices for materials, but feel free to get creative with whatever you've got on hand.
They're never to be sold, only traded for similar works from others. Don't be intimidated...anyone can join in, just do your best. It's not about judging who is best, it's just egalitarian art!
Let's get together to create and/or swap some ATC's. Altered books, inchies, and the like are also welcome!
In addition to the lovely meet-up that Veronica, our intrepid leader, has planned:
Wanna make some holiday cards, gift tags and what not? I'd like to meet at Archivers (knowing it is first come first serve there) in case we want to use any of their tools or need any new supplies, etc.
I'm going to make some recycled greeting cards this year by cutting up old & vintage holiday cards and arranging them in new ways. Read more
