What we’re about
Welcome to the AWS User Group UK, a meetup group for the AWS user community. Proposed topics will cover the technical aspects of AWS feature use and implementation. We will tend to focus real-world use cases - what has worked and what hasn't.
All abilities are welcome, but be prepared to get in-depth! If you are looking for some background information, we recommend starting with The Open Guide to Amazon Web Services.
Remember to follow us on Bluesky and LinkedIn for our latest news. We are migrating off Twitter but will continue to post for now. If you want to chat with other members, join our Community Discord Server.
If you (or someone you know) have case studies/insights/ideas that you would like to share with our amazing community, please submit your talk via our Call for Papers form.
We are advocates for greater diversity & inclusion in UK Tech and are especially keen to receive talk submissions from people from underrepresented groups. If you are interested in speaking at a future meetup but would like to discuss what to expect or need assistance please contact our Diversity & Inclusion Lead Natalie Gray or DM via LinkedIn. Else you can check out our free resources to help you on your public speaking journey. Finally, you can read the findings of our 2020 Diversity and Inclusion survey here.
Please take time to read our Code Of Conduct - it applies to every member of our community, our services and every event we hold.

How we built an AI-powered code reviewer with serverless and Bedrock with Yan Cui
How hard can it be to build an AI-powered code reviewer using modern LLMs? Easier than you think - until it isn't! Yan recently helped a client launch an AI-powered code reviewer. They built the initial prototype in the first few hours. But they soon encountered many unexpected challenges as they tried to productionize the idea into a coherent user experience. In this session, let's hear the surprises, challenges, and lessons learned from building an AI-powered code reviewer and what it can tell us about the current state of LLM technologies.Talk 2
Backend in the age of serverless with Marina Kim
Drawing from real-world projects, including MVPs and production apps built with AWS, I’ll share a practical decision-making framework for choosing your stack with a focus on architecture and AWS services.
