DATE CHANGE! ~ Showcase (PERFORMERS) Miller's Grille (Lafayette)

SORRY ALL ~ I had to change the date for our Showcase: from Oct. 9th to the following Wed., the 16th! (My son, who is a high school senior, has an out-of-state college fair this coming Wed., the 9th, that I really need to go to with him, in hopes of learning more how to get him into the college of his choice next fall.)

I spoke with Rich at Miller's and he said the 16th will work just fine. That'll mean we have 2 weeks in a row of the Showcases! Hope you will all consider signing up for the 16th or the 23rd. THANKS A BUNCH!

SHOWCASE at Millier's Grille Downunder -- This SHOWCASE is announced as TWO different meetups: one for the performers--which will have 5 performers slots available and the second meetup which is for an "AUDIENCE" of our meetup members to come out and watch the show and cheer on our fellow performers -- with an unlimited number of RSVPs available for that one, of course.

NOTE: I Decided to limit the Showcase to 5 people for the summer at least, since it seems to be slowing down and people don't stay much past 9/9:30 usually.

Once the 5 performers have been solidified --I will email each of you with your time slots and ask that you let me know if there are any NECESSARY required time slot changes, which I will try to accommodate. Also I will need a sound person or two to volunteer for the night, and will probably need extra mics and stands as last time.... so speak up, if you can do either of those. THANKS!

Structure/format: In order to give everyone who has not YET played a chance to perform at this event -- if there are people on the WL who have not yet performed at Miller's, they will get priority over others on the WL. AND -- those who have just performed the previous time, should NOT sign up for the following showcase, but are welcome to sign up as many times as you wish in the future -- just not 2 weeks in a row. I think this seems the best way to make it fair for everyone from the meetup group who wishes to perform at this event to get a chance.

I plan to post 2 showcase events at a time, for each month -- after the last showcase in that month occurred.

Note on timing for the slots: I will try to keep an eye on the 30 minutes, so everyone gets their fair amount of time to perform (but won't always be perfect :-( )-- and I will try to keep everyone's time roughly set to 30 minutes total so we don't go much over 9:30pm at the end -- esp. since this is a week night. There can sometimes be up to 5 minutes of setup time involved, esp. when there is more than one person doing a set -- so I guess it would be good to factor that in, if you are having multiple people perform with you.

One Last Note: If people want to stay and hang out for awhile afterwards to jam, that is always fun too! and since it's getting warmer, it will be nice to be out on the patio and jam together if the space and time permits.
