User Privacy and Trust: Chasen’s SocialRadar
Details
In order for people to use your product, they have to trust you. And the more data you collect, especially highly personal data about their social relationships and GPS location, the harder that is.
SocialRadar, the newest company from Blackboard founder Michael Chasen, attacks this behavioral challenge head-on. It aggregates all of your social networks, and then shares with them where you are -- all the time. The benefits are immense for users, but only if they trust the system. SocialRadar's mobile app takes a novel approach -- bringing data privacy to the fore of the app, instead of burying it. In this talk, Michael Chasen and his colleagues will discuss how they address the core behavioral challenges of user trust and data privacy.
Come meet, greet, and eat at 6:30.
The talk starts promptly at 7:00.
We encourage you to download SocialRadar from the App Store (iphone only, at present) before the talk: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/socialradar/id720159037?mt=8
