Hello all ~
Welcome to the Active Outdoor Enthusiasts meetup group. If you are active or want to be, are happy in the sun, and have a get up and go attitude - rain or shine, climb aboard.
My name is Heidi, and I am a new arrival to Michigan. I grew up in Canada, and was brought up to enjoy the great outdoors, and explore what we are fortunate enough to live amongst. In my time here in Michigan, I hope to get to know nearby hiking trails, beaches, ski sites, sports facilities, etc. Since I am a new comer, like many of you, please get in touch with ideas, meetup proposals, and feedback on some of the parks and places that you have visited, and I ll be happy to try and get people out on the go.
Also, if there are activities that you love - even excel at - please feel free to take the lead and help organize some get togethers to explore that activity. For example, I would love to learn to Kayak. So if you're a pro - or proactive at least - maybe interested parties could get together and learn more about the sport, where we can rent equipment, and who can get out on the water with us somewhere that we can safely enjoy learning.
Since there are activities that require equipment that not everyone may have, please post some info about where it can be rented or who it can be borrowed from.

Hey gang,
I have scheduled a meetup to go out and enjoy the Kalamazoo Art Hop again. We will meet at the same building as last time - down on Kalamazoo Mall (Burdick St) - and head out from there. Although the meet-up is scheduled for 6:15 - we will check out exhibits around the main building for awhile, before heading out into the downtown area. Read more
