I want to be more able to communicate what I'm thinking, and know how to get the impact that I'm aiming for, regardless of where I am or who I'm speaking to. I'm interested in getting into political activism, and the ability to speak to strangers, in public and in various conditions, is vitally important if I want to convey a message.
Speaking with conviction and charisma can go a long way when communicating. I want to be more comfortable speaking to strangers about a topic I'm passionate about, and be better able to address friends and family about topics that may be hard to talk about. I think public speaking, and knowing the nuances of leading a conversation, are the key things I need to learn in order to better communicate with whoever I'm speaking with. Those same assertive abilities can also help me lead others towards similar goals, and bring them closer inline with what I'm trying to achieve.
I'm an artist at a local videogame studio. I used to have horrible anxiety (not exactly conducive to speaking in public) but read a bunch of self help books and eliminated it. Now I want to get better at public speaking and communication in general.
