Thanks to those who left msgs that they liked the book, even tho' they couldn't attend yesterday. I liked the book very much (tho' I was the only one there yesterday who did): a beautifully written meditative study of grief, loss and memory of the past.

I haven't had enough time to locate the book and read it, so in fairness I am pulling out. Sorry to all, look forward to seeing you again soon.

Sorry guys have something else on. Beautifully written book, nostalgic, human and insightful. Great that it has evoked both positive and negative criticism and would have loved to have been at the meeting. Suspect controversy in the air

well i stopped reading it, fed up with male adolescent sexual fantasies about a friend's mother and went on to read the Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry, could not put that down by Rachel Joyce! OK I shall go back to the sea and find out what I have missed, any other comments or did you all love it?

I agree totally with you Tabitha and Courtney I only read it early as I just joined the club but this is the first one I can attend and no doubt I will forget it, as it is forgettable. However I did go back to finish it after someone from the group gave it a good review.

I loved this book. It grew on me. I appreciated the introspection and reflection upon the past. I just wish I could come to the meeting so we could talk it through properly.

I hope to be able to attend , I will not be able to arrive before 12.30, so hope this will not be too late. This will be my first meeting with the book club so I am looking forward to meeting everyone and discussing the book.

A descriptive and philosophical novel. I enjoyed it - hoping I will be in ADL that weekend so I can join in the discussion. :)

Last day of placement, so there is still a possibility of me coming around. I still don't have my roster and my placement starts Monday. I am writing this at 4pm on Friday so I'm a bit worried!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
